I would like to download climate data files from PCMDI website using R. I tried this line below and I was not able to get the file mainly due to user name and password requirements. Hi, I am trying to set up asterisk with ss7. Whenever I try to load module chan_dahdi.so, I get the error [Mar 26 17:33:27] ERROR[10437]: chan_dahdi.c:10458 mkintf: Unable to find linkset -1 I have compiled dahdi, libss7, asterisks (am using asterisk 1.6) in that order. Have already set signalling to ss7 in dahdi_channels.conf How do I sort this out? Thanks for your help in advance. Peter.

Hello, Is SS7 and PRI in any way compatible in that if the interface is configured one it will work for the other (granted, it will not have any of the ISUP, etc. parameters available if the line is PRI) or are they two distince protocols that have incompatible signalling? Thanks, Elliot

Has anyone worked out a way to transfer the Calling Party's Category codes to Asterisk through E1 / T1 connections? We currently use Asterisk to provide a SIP-to-PSTN service. The actual conversion takes place somewhere in a softswitch owned by our SIP-to-PSTN provider, where we have an SS7 link. We would like to do that conversion ourselves. Is it possible to replace a softswitch with a Cisco AS5xx0 only (ie. AS5300, 5350, 5400), or is a *real* softswitch (ie. Cisco PGW2200) needed?
