R: R: Missing 'security' tab
I apologize overturned the sentence, rewrite it properly! I explain better: I have another linux machine added to the domain but from the same windows stain to which I log in with a domain admins account, if I connect to this other machine I see the tab security but if I connect to this machine I do not see the tab sec...

[LLVMdev] LLVM ARM VMLA instruction
...just isn't worth it on Cortex-A8. There's this comment in the source: // Some processors have FP multiply-accumulate instructions that don't // play nicely with other VFP / NEON instructions, and it's generally better // to just not use them. Sufficient benchmarking evidence could overturn that decision, but I assume the people who added it in the first place didn't do so on a whim. > The performance gain with vmla instruction is huge. Is it, on Cortex-A8? The TRM referrs to them jumping across pipelines in odd ways, and that was a very primitive core so it's almost cert...

Blocking and compression.
I did some research on patent claims on range and arithmetic coding. The original range code pdf presented in the UK by an ibm employee at the time asserts no patent claims what so ever. If there are patents I cant find em. I have the original paper in PDF if anyone cares to see it. Its a good candidate for encoding because browsing a few of the implememntations avaialable on line, I can roll my

...usiness model and sole revenue source is to licence these patents. That makes them extremely disinclined to back down on them, and OSS projects (and a lot of commercial projects, for that matter) don't have the financial resources to fight the legal battle that would be needed to get the patent overturned. cjs -- Curt Sampson <cjs@cynic.net> +81 90 7737 2974 http://www.NetBSD.org Don't you know, in this new Dark Age, we're all light. --XTC

[LLVMdev] LLVM ARM VMLA instruction
Hi all, Thanks for the info. Few observations from my side : LLVM : cortex-a8 vfpv3 : no vmla or vfma instruction emitted cortex-a8 vfpv4 : no vmla or vfma instruction emitted (This is invalid though as cortex-a8 does not have vfpv4) cortex-a8 vfpv4 with ffp-contract=fast : vfma instruction emitted ( this seems a bug to me!! If cortex-a8 doesn't come with vfpv4 then vfma instructions

file.rename overwrites existing target (PR#14065)
Full_Name: Jens Oehlschl?gel Version: 2.10.0 OS: Windows XP Professional Submission from: (NULL) (85.181.158.112) file.rename() will successfully rename file a to b - even if b exists already. Though the documentation does not state what file.rename() will do in this case, I guess the expected behaviour is to fail and return FALSE. Kind regards Jens Oehlschl?gel > cat("a\n",

Also I think it is particularly bad to use them in manuals because it hides the target so the user has no idea what hey will get. I agree, and we do have \href{}{} in Rd files and similar in

Missing 'security' tab
Hi, I try to formulate the question better! :) I’ve successfully joined an ubuntu 16.04 machine, as member server, to an active directory domain Windows server 2012 R2 following the instructions in the wiki.samba.org “Setting up Samba as a Domain Member” now I set the acls using Windows acl on a share. For that I followed the instruction in the “Setting up a Share Using Windows ACLs” in the wiki.

Digium and mailing lists
I was somewhat concerned reading Mark's posting earlier today. Obviously, things are very bad in the US at the moment. Their Government even deported Cat Stevens the other day (check http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/3686992.stm ). Clearly, given the fact that Digium contributes so much to Asterisk, they shouldn't be forced to risk their company's future by hosting these
