Using TSM to back-up glusterfs
Hi
We have been trying back-up a glusterfs (v3.1.4) area using
the Tivoli TSM software to an off-site area. The back-up
keeps failing with the following typical error messages

Samba, rsync and a newbie sorting it out...
All,
I'd like to use rsync as a way to back up Windows devices on a network,
pulling data off of the Windows boxes and putting it onto a Samba share. Is
this even possible? I suspect I either need some sort of rsync
implementation on Windows (ha!) or I need to have Samba know to "reach into"
the boxes and get the info for rsync-ing. Doable? A fool's errand?

ov_time_seek to 0s fails... AGAIN
Hello everybody, I sent something about this before, but this bug is still
there, so...
If you call
ov_time_seek(vf, 0);
it will fail, returning OV_EFAULT (from ov_pcm_seek_page). I think this must
be a bug, because seeking to 0 seconds *should* be OK.
Another thing, when ov_time_seek fails with OV_EFAULT, you cannot continue
playing
(because of the goto seek_error). This is not clear from

Linux virus
ugh :)
Today I became infected with the bliss virus, any info on this would be
appreciated! How do I scan for files infected and is it possible to
remove it? I first noticed the infection when running a program (not as
root) messages flashed on the screen about transversing directories and
such. The program (gimp) had been working fine since I downloaded the
binary for gimp from their main

Preferred backup s/w
Hi all,
What is the current preferred method for backing up ZFS data pools,
preferably using free ($0.00) software, and assuming that access to
individual files (a la ufsbackup/ufsrestore) is required?
TIA,

Direct I/O ability with zfs?
We are using MySQL, and love the idea of using zfs for this. We are used to using Direct I/O to bypass file system caching (let the DB do this). Does this exist for zfs?

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
