[PATCH 0 of 2] v2: memshare/xenpaging/xen-access fixes for xen-unstable
The following two patches allow the parallel use of memsharing, xenpaging and xen-access by using an independent ring buffer for each feature. Please review. v2: - update mem_event_check_ring arguments, check domain rather than domain_id - check ring_full first because its value was just evaluated - check if ring buffer is initialized before calling mem_access_domctl/mem_paging_domctl

should `data` respect default.stringsAsFactors()?
Hi Peter, Sorry if I was not clear. Perhaps an example will make my point: > data(iris) > class(iris$Species) [1] "factor" > write.table(iris,'data/myiris.tab') > data(myiris) > class(myiris$Species) [1] "factor" > rm(myiris) > options(stringsAsFactors = FALSE) > data(myiris) > class(myiris$Species) [1] "factor" >

should `data` respect default.stringsAsFactors()?
Aha... Hadn't noticed that stringsAsFactors only works via as.is in read.table. Yes, the doc should probably be fixed. The code probably not -- packages loading different data sets depending on user options is an even worse idea than hav?ng the option in the first place... (I don't mean having the possibility, I mean the default.stringsAsFactor thing). In general, read.table() gets

Confusing Generic USB UPS cannot be matched
I was dropping off junk at the waste transfer station and scarfed a UPS out of the pile of old TV's and VCR's. It was in good physical condition and as I expected, the battery was toast. A new RBC-2 battery restored it to working condition. Then I tried to get it to talk to some software. And I am having no luck. The unit is branded as a Nexxtech Model 6118507 650VA imported into

MEC0003 protocol support
Hi Folks, I'm trying to use a ZIGOR Danubio 2000 ups with NUT on Debian squeeze (AMD64). OS/NUT are all the latest official release (as of last week) with NUT installed from packages. As the usb descriptor presents MEC (and the Fry's electronics) I chose to use the blazer_usb driver. All appears to work well excepting that the UPS does not appear to accept the shutdown instcmd to turn

should `data` respect default.stringsAsFactors()?
Hiya, Probably been debated elsewhere.... I note that R's `data` function does not respect default.stringsAsFactors By my lights, it should, especially as it is documented to call read.table, which DOES respect. Oh, but: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/stringsAsFactors-FALSE-tp921891p921893.html Compelling. I have to agree. So, I change my mind. By my lights, `data` should then be

enabling reproducible research & R package management & install.package.version & BiocLite
Hi, In support of reproducible research at my Institute, I seek an approach to re-creating the R environments in which an analysis has been conducted. By which I mean, the exact version of R and the exact version of all packages used in a particular R session. I am seeking comments/criticism of this as a goal, and of the following outline of an approach: === When all the steps to an workflow

Is someone on-list authorized and willing to make the documentation change? I suppose I could learn what it takes to be a "player", but for such a trivial fix, it probably is overkill. Dissenting opinions?

[PATCH 0 of 2] Fix correctness race in xc_mem_paging_prep
ging_prep ensures that an mfn is backing the paged-out gfn, and transitions to the next state in the paging state machine for this page. Foreign mappings of the gfn will now succeed. This is the key idea, as it allows the pager to now map the gfn and fill in its contents. Unfortunately, it also allows any other foreign mapper to map the gfn and read its contents. This is particularly dangerous

Patch to support Powercool PCRACK-1200VA
Hi Folks, This is my first post on nut-upsdev. I would like to share a small patch to enable support for the Powercool PCRACK 1200VA ups. I found that the UPS uses megatec/krauler protocol but is sensitive to the USB buffer length passed to it in requests via usb_get_string(), and usb_get_string_simple(). If the buflen is greater than 102 then the ups will reply to requests but does not
