Problems with custom plugin
Hi everybody,
I wrote a plugin for Dovecot 2.1.something which was based on the
information found at http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Design/Storage/Plugins and
by studying the mail_log plugin.
My plugin can be found here: https://github.com/dim-0/dovecot-mbc
It takes the notify plugin's information, that a new mailbox has been
created (or an old one been renamed) in order to trigger a custom script
(which in my case sets default ACLs for shared mailboxes).
This plugin went quite well for a while, but then I recently upgraded
Dovecot to version 2.2...

Newbie smb.conf question
Excuse my ignorance please, and the simple nature of this questions...but
would someone explain to me the difference between the "create mode" and
"force create mode" parameters in the smb.conf file? When would "create
mode" *not* be forced?
Thanks!

Samba consuming massive amounts of memory (CONT)
Concerning Samba consuming memory, I forgot to add one thing, sorry.
The process listing does not show Smbd consuming the memory. "free -m" just
reports a drastic increase when I use Samba.

File corruption
We have moved our 3rd-party multiuser billing system database files from
Novell NetWare to Samba (first 2.2.8a, and now, just last Friday evening,
upgraded to 3.0.2a) on Mandrake Linux 9.2 (kernel version 2.4). Now, about
once every week or so, we get a file corruption, and last week (even after
upgrading some NICs) seemed to be even worse, with 5 or 6 problems.
Because we had no problems before

[PATCH 00/12] Multidisk support
Hello,
the following patches should get multidisk access working.
The syntax accepted is the following:
(hdx,y)/path/to/file
where x is the disk number and start at 0 and the y is the partition number starting at 1. So (hd0,1) is the first partition of the first disk.
the other accepted syntax is using MBR's 32 bits disk signature so for example:
(mbr:0x12345678,2)/foo/bar

[PATCH 0/9] tools: remove or disable old/useless/unused/unmainted stuff
depends on "autoconf: regenerate configure scripts with 4.4 version"
This series removes some of the really old deadwood from the tools build

build time with a default depending on how far down the slope I judge
them to be.

Hi Chris.
Do you mind if I butt in on this thread? I am currently fighting
tooth and nail with Samba and I am attempting to do an strace on it
myself...to no avail. When I start Samba with "strace -ff -o trace.out smbd
-D", the program starts, but I cannot connect to the service
