kernel and routing
First of all sorry for my English. I wan''t to ask a question. It may be ''dummy'' but i can''t find an answer. Suppose i''m routing with a Linux pc A where is the default ''instalation'' kernel. I''m also routing with a Linux pc B where i have a compiled kernel wich is ''smaller'' than A''s machine kernel.

Can't get 'root preexec' to run
On a Windows domain member client in the ADUC console, you specifiy the home dir path that is to be used on Windows machines on the "Profile" tab. As soon as you click 'Ok' (or 'Apply' for that matter), the folder is created (by the DC via your domain admin account) on the Samba server hosting the share the path you provided leads to. Try it, its nice an simple.

Directories turned to sockets
...had turned to sockets wich fsck does not seem to fix. All the affected folders(sockets) have the following attributes srwxr-xr-x 32770 2147516917 2147516917 2147520512 and they all report the same size of 1073758212 (1.1T). Does anyone have an explanation as to how this could happen and more importandly is there a way to reverse this ? My system is Mandrake 10 with kernel 2.6.3-8mdk, if you need more info then just ask. centos 5.5 x86_64 live cd
good day, I am new to centos. Using a standalone laptop. Downloaded and burned the live cd. All seem ok except screen resolution only 800x600. Most importand I do not seem to find the install to hard disk option anywhere. Some distros I tried do have an option to install on the screen when you are happy about the OS. Googled but could not find the howto for the live cd install. Kindly

How to backup maildir
I have been thinking, and reading, on how to back up my mailserver. I have not found any approach that seems ready to use. I have run years without any backup, but would really like to have something in place.? I figure I can attach a USB drive and backup to that, then from there rsync to something elsewhere.? Further if that USB drive is a full mailserver image, I actually have a 'hot

Convert plugin
Hi, I'm trying to convert users from a sendmail server to a postfix/dovecot server. All works fine but one of the last things is to rescue the messages in /var/mail/<user> on the old server. This seems very straitforward using the convert plugin but with the settings from the wiki, nothing happens when the user logs in. Do I need a private namespace for this as suggested elsewhere

Can't get 'root preexec' to run
Hai, i'll try to explain so here.. When you use ADUC console. This is what happens. ( for Profile tab in ADUC ) The ADUC user creates the user network dir, but only what you set the Drive letter: (connected with) \\servername.domain.tld\users\%username% If you set the local pad, its not created. This folder is created at the moment you clik OK, or Apply. For the profil folder, this
