IP address change fouls things up.
Good morning,
i recently had to change the IP address of my RH7.3 samba file server.
The config is pretty much standard and had been working for about a year.
Once i changed the IP address, i started getting the message "the domain
password you supplied is not correct, or access to your logon server has
been denied".
Changing my IP address back resolves the issue. Also, adding a

XML write?
Is there any function to write a XML structure, after it was
read using xmlTreeParse?
Ex:

x <- xmlTreeParse("Irpf2008/aplicacao/dados/12345678901/12345678901.xml")
# write it...

My system was built yesterday. I just figured I'm not using the entire
frequency range available in Europe. This is a potential problem when
AP frequencies are not under my control.

How fouled-up can you get??
I subscribed, and am getting emails hand over fist. They'll bust my inbox
quota if I miss a day.
I went to the web site for my subscription and tried to disable delivery;
I'll follow this list on gmane or not at all -- and that works with every
other mailman list I've tried.
It wouldn't let me -- kept reverting to the password screen; I kept giving
it the password, and making the

Testing software on CentOS 7
I need to test a new version of Geany but already have the repo version installed on all my systems. In order not to foul up my current installation, what is the suggested procedure for installing and testing this new version?
I tried installing in a docker container which of course went fine but could not run it from there.
Suggestions appreciated, thank you.

Strange permissions problems
I had this problem some last year and never got it figured out. Now it
is bugging me. It seems that sometimes when a student writes his/her
file to a directory, it will not keep the correct group. It puts
his/her main group as the group owner and that fouls things up. Here is
what I have.

runners and development/production mode
I''m using a runner script to try and send batch email update, however I
get the impression that the runner is not operating in production mode
and as a result it is falling foul of the system I have in place to
block emails goinc out in development in testing modes.
Is there some way for me to force a runner to operate in a particular
mode, or even to check the mode it is operating in?

Xen with Broadcom Tigon3 BCM5704
...ress is entered statically on the VM other
devices on the network can get ARP responses for the VMs MAC, if the VM
is set to DHCP, DHCP requests make it out to the network. The problem is
that nothing ever makes it back to the VM. The VM ignores pings and DHCP
responses.
Do I have something fouled in the config or is this maybe an issue
with the hardware?

Rails Edge stability - has_many :through
Hi all,
If I was to start developing an application using Edge Rails with the
view to deploying on Rails 1.1, would I fall foul of lots of bugs, or is
it relatively stable?
I''d really like has_many :through relationships, to save me dealing with
HABTM + associations.
Thanks,
Tom

very slow network from GXP-2000 switch port
Hello,
At a client site yesterday I installed a dozen GrandStream GXP-2000's
with 1.1.0.13 firmware but I had to backtrack and reactivate the old PBX
and phones: network access for users windoze PC's through the phone's
switch port was unbearably slow, making it almost impossible to work.
When plugging back PC's directly to the LAN speed was normal again.
On my test setup

Is this the most current version available from centos? In the logs,
there is a note about it being drastically outdated and pointed me to an
FAQ file on clamd. I don't want to go through that hassle of mixing
repos and get all fouled up again.
Thanks

File names and e-acute char

The susers on Windows 9x/WindowsNT just put their strange file name or
directory name (like /usr/people/mesure_?t? ) on the IRIX. However, from
the IRIX side, it's impossible toaccess to such files/directory.
What's more, my ARkeia backup client stalls on such a name and fouled up
my backup database...
NB: Oops: for those that can't read the lines over there

I suppose WindowsX users use a symbol set different from the IRIX one.
Is there a way for Samba to force the use of *a* symbol set ???...

"hosed", circa 1983, in this context essentially means FUBAR which is
just a US
Mil. acronym for "Fouled (or your favorite F word) Up Beyond All
Recognition."

which ACL attributes are supported by Samba?
I've tried to determine this empirically, but have run foul of config
issues that won't be resolved in the immediate future. Basically, I
know that Samba + ACL + an acl-aware filesystem will allow me to
assign unix-style permissions to arbitrary groups of people for a
given file. However, Windows has additional permissions: delete, take
ownership, and, um, I think possibly one or two more.

checker for Rd files" and that I should set it up. Now, there is already
