Samba permissions problem
Hi all, I have a permissions problem with a samba share which I really can't fathom out. I'm trying to create a fully group writable share. Easy or so I thought. As you can see from my config I am trying all the options to set files group writable, however when I create a file from the client I'm always getting the mode 0644. Does anyone have a clue why? Thanks! client:

Xen - multiCPUs per socket setting?
I''m still trying to figure out how to get my Xen installation on a 34-CPU machine (8 quad cores) to recognize more than one CPU per socket. It seems to default to one CPU per socket on this machine. Win2003ServerEnterprise will support 8 quad cores (32 CPUs) in a native install, but I can''t fathom why it won''t when installed under Xen (OpenSuSE11.0). Thanks for any

[LLVMdev] MODULE_CODE_GLOBALVAR error
Hi, I have istalled LLVM 3.1 Release+Asserts build. I was just trying out the hello world sequence of steps in the installation instructions. However when I run lli or llvm-dis I get an error "invalid MODULE_CODE_GLOBALVAR record". I have searched the web and I am not able to fathom what the problem and its fix is. I have GCC 4.6.3 running on a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x86-64. Please let me

7.3 and USB headphones
Hi all! I wish to give huge thankyous to KB and all the others who worked to get 7.3 out the door. Many thanks! I have some good things and some bad. A good thing is that unlike previous versions, when I plug in my USB headphones they are automatically recognized and I get sound without having to change anything! (which is a huge win from before when I had to mess with settings, sometimes for a

anyone from Joplin, MO
I'm trying to convince my employer to deploy an Asterisk based system, but one member of the leadership team is against it. The rest of the team is for it, but he's convinced them that we should find other organisations in the Joplin, MO area who are using Asterisk first because, "we don't want to be the first in our area." I can't fathom how that's relevant, since

Hello All, I am experiencing the following test unit error working with Rails that I can''t fathom. I have a products.yml file which holds the following test fixture for the products table: dell_pc: id: 1 title: Dell PC description: Dell PC image_url: http://.../pc_image.jpg price: 15000.00 date_available: 2005-12-31 06:53:00 I also have the following product_test.rb file to

[LLVMdev] Strange code generation issue
Hi, I am using the LLVM release_37 branch and have a strange issue. Please see the two IR outputs I have saved below: https://github.com/dibyendumajumdar/ravi/tree/master/ravi-tests/comp_issue The original.ll is the code I am generating. The aftercompiling.ll is the output from LLVM with opt level 0. The issue is that LLVM is deciding to remove the blocks with labels updatei and updatei.64

[LLVMdev] Is LLVM expressive enough to represent asynchronous exceptions?
On 14 June 2011 19:07, Bill Wendling <wendling at apple.com> wrote: > My understanding was that we support exceptions thrown from signals. The mechanism for modeling this is unknown to me (it's most likely a gcc thing and not an llvm thing). Oh, I see. That's a slightly different matter, but still, unwinding makes little sense when the signal (and thus its exception) can occur at

Postfix smtp_recipient_restrictions causing mail to fail
Hi All, I'm currently playing with smtp_recipient restrictions to try and knock some of this spam on it's head. On my old debian server, I was using this and successfully filtering out at least 90% if not more of all spam emails which was great. I didn't even need spamassassin. However, trying to do the same thing on my new CentOS based server isn't working. With the

binomial dist: obtaining probability of success on each trial
I'm trying to fathom how to answer two example problems (3.3.2 & 3.3.3) in: Krishnamoorthy. 2006. "handbook of statistical distributions with applications" The first requires calculating single trial probability of success for a binomial distribution when we know: trial size=20, successes k=4, P(x<=k)=0.7 Appreciably all the binomial functions are requiring "prob",

Pegasus - Crashes on Sending
I'm running Pegasus 4.31 via the latest version of Wine on Ubuntu's Breezy Badger version. I've looked at the Wine applications page for bugs etc and Pegasus crashing on sending mail is documented. It shows as bug 1611 and shows as resolved but I cannot fathom out what the resolution is. My Pegasus appears to run fine except when I press the send button whereupon pegasus

Logging authorized key info
Hi, I would like to be able to log the key/fingerprint/comment field or even line number (pick one) from the authorized_keys file of the account connected to. So I would get a syslog entry something like this... Identifying the Originating Cisco SIP Gateway
I have several Cisco SIP gateways sending calls to Asterisk. Because the gateways don't have user-agents, they don't authenticate with Asterisk. And because they don't authenticate, they use the default context in the sip.conf file. Is there a way to either: A) identify the inbound gateway with a variable, in channel info, or the manager interface? If there was a ${SIPDOMAIN} for

ios clients and namespace trouble
We migrated to dovecot from courier and maintained a courier compatible namespace configuration. This resulted in ios clients needing to be manually configured in order to use the special folders correctly (delete messages, save drafts, etc) either by being given the correct "Path Prefix" or by manually selecting the special folders. I can't fathom why apple has chosen not to

DomainDnsZone Replication Shows 200,000 Objects
During the samba domain join process I see over 200,000+ objects that need to be replicated. This takes several hours to complete if at all. I don't believe this to be correct. I'm currently running Samba 4.1.0 on several DC's across a couple sites. Tried to join a new DC using Samba4.1.0 as well but it failed with an error code similar to the one found here
