Getting IOAPIC errors in xl dmesg on old hardware
I am getting a series of IOAPIC errors in xl dmesg on a Dell OptiPlex GX100 machine (bought in 2000). I also get an error from traps.c which is very similar to the one in the ''Getting mm.c errors from xl dmesg on certain hardware'' thread. This happens during system startup with no DomUs running. I have attached the xl dmesg log. _______________________________________________

Improving packets/sec and data rate - v1.0.24
...oss the board. Each Tinc node does have AES-NI. I've also read through/found https://github.com/gsliepen/tinc/issues/110 which is very interesting. The TInc nodes are all on Centos6 AWS EC2 instances as c3.large's w/ EIP's. I've been testing with iperf3 and am able to get around 510Mb/s on the raw network. Over the tun interface/Tinc network, I'm only able to max it out to around 120Mb/s. Anyone have any suggestions on settings or system changes that might be able to assist here? I'm also curious if upgrading to 1.0.31 would help and plan on testing that tomorrow. Ha...

Rsync write behaviour / efficiency
Rsync is efficient at transferring diffs across the wire, but how efficient is it at updating the remote file itself (in terms of disk operations)? If, for example, you have a 500MB file (say an ISO) whose modification consists solely of a few bytes added on to the beginning of the file. Will it create an entirely new 500MB file? Or will it somehow know how to insert the bytes at the beginning

Performance with Sun StorageTek 2540
Under Solaris 10 on a 4 core Sun Ultra 40 with 20GB RAM, I am setting up a Sun StorageTek 2540 with 12 300GB 15K RPM SAS drives and connected via load-shared 4Gbit FC links. This week I have tried many different configurations, using firmware managed RAID, ZFS managed RAID, and with the controller cache enabled or disabled. My objective is to obtain the best single-file write performance.
