A question about rsync
Hi:
I really want to know how rsync works.
Once it synchronize a file. Does rscync first create a temporary in the
remote machine first and then rename it? Or it direct write the difference
into the dest-file?
Could you please tell me what will happen to the dest-file when a rsync
process interrupted by some problems(network problem etc ...)?
Thanks for your help
Best Regards

tinc memoryleak ?
I noticed that tinc is using quite a big amount of memory after some time.
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ Command
11559 root 9 0 129m 73m 1092 S 0.0 39.1 0:22.06 tincd
you can see that after 22 hours the memsize is way too big.
im using debian sid.
kernel 2.4.20.
tinc 1.0pre8 debian package.

How to use expression in label with xYplot
Dear R-List,
I want to use the label function (from Hmisc library) to allow for the
names of my isotopes.
library(Hmisc)
library(lattice)
library(grid)
num <- c("78","137","129m")
nom <- c("Ge","Cs","Te")
df <- data.frame(GE78=seq(nom),CS137=seq(nom),TE129m=seq(nom))
if I use this function to create the labels :
lab <- function(i)
as.expression(bquote(italic(phantom(0)^{.(num[i])}*.(nom[i]))))
label(df$GE78) <- lab(1)

Sysinux 6 will not boot ISOs on BIOS (i.e. pre-UEFI) systems
...ability to rebuild Syslinux from source, perhaps you
> could try the following patch?
Yes. I done the rebuild, but I can not test just now (enconding video!).
I will post the result in ~10 hours ;)
If anyone that can reproduce the issue want to test, here is the
compressed (~167K) ISO image (~129M)[#2].
This is just and ISO image with isolinux.bin (at LBA 65536) patched +
"coco" (a file filled with \0), so if works propertly, you can see
message about missing ldlinux.c32.
Thanks for your time!

Sysinux 6 will not boot ISOs on BIOS (i.e. pre-UEFI) systems
...and 655360 (~1280M) and works fine in both
cases.
The big mistery is why this works in some machines and why fails in
others. (maybe garbage in high word of "edx"?)
Thanks.
