Hi, you should first take a log on your cups ( or other print daemon) logs to debug the problem Best Regards ----- Original Message ----- From: "Angelo" <eupec@supereva.it> To: <samba@lists.samba.org> Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2003 7:07 PM Subject: [samba] two printers: one works ok in w9x/2k,other printer unavailable in Win98 BUT ok in w2k!> Hi all, > I try to explain my strange Samba problem: I've done a linuxboxwith> Mandrake 8.2 distro; installed Samba 2.2 packages and two printersattached> via parallel port: one works with the motherboard built-in parallel port, > the other is connected via a pci parallel port card. [samba] two printers: one works ok in w9x/2k, other printer unavailable in Win98 BUT ok in w2k!
Hi all, I try to explain my strange Samba problem: I've done a linuxbox with Mandrake 8.2 distro; installed Samba 2.2 packages and two printers attached via parallel port: one works with the motherboard built-in parallel port, the other is connected via a pci parallel port card. Both works fine on win2000 clients (and on the linuxbox, too :); on windows 98 clients, both printers are browseable in network neighborhood, but I'm able to install, on the win98 boxes, ONLY one printer (and I can print fine using this printer:-) the other seems to be offline, but it's false, because I can print absolutely fine to it via w2k clients and linuxbox ! The linux box is a member server in an AD domain with Windows 2000 server as PDC, clients are windows 2000 professional, windows 9x (some old machines), Windows XP Professional. Any help to understand the nature of this problem is greatly appreciated, I've searched with google in the newsgroups and searched in some mailing lists too, but it didn' help :( Angelo
