samba - Jul 2000 - difference between 1.9.18 and 2.0.3

Hello,

When I install Samba 1.9.18 I don't have any problem, but when I use
Samba 2.0.3 the PC asks me for a password (which I don't know ...).
In my smb.conf file, I specify "guest ok = yes".
This happens with Windows NT and Windows 95.

How can I solve this problem ?

The 2.0.x way is to add to smb.conf
map to guest = bad user

If you want full compatibility with 1.9.x you have o use
security = share
since that was the default of 1.9.x, whereas in 2.0.x the default is
security = user
