[Rails-spinoffs] AutoCompleter IE6 and SELECT Element Clash
Hello, I am using the AutoCompleter to great effect. However, the site design I have been constrained by has <select> elements/drop down boxes below the AutoCompleter field. This means that in Internet Explorer 6 the drop down elements appear on top of the floating DIV when rendered in the browser. Mozilla floats the DIV on top of the select elements as expected. Has anyone encountered, and fixed this before? Cheers, Paul Shannon Web Applications Developer Codeweavers Limited -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The only work-around is to set the select to visibility: hidden on creating the floating div. Bye, Martin

Simply put, you can shim an IFRAME under your DIV.?The IFRAME will block out the windowed control." This may or may not be a desired work-around for you with the AutoCompleter, but I''ve used this method in several other scenarios and it does work. Regards, Jess

Interesting. Actually, the autocompleter code includes this IFRAME workaround. Maybe it''s broken...? Anyone wants to look into this? :) Thomas Am 11.08.2005 um 23:12 schrieb JCollicott@msiinet.com:> rails-spinoffs-bounces@lists.rubyonrails.org wrote on 08/08/2005 > 02:59:35 > PM: > > >> On 08/08/05, Paul Shannon <Paul.Shannon@codeweavers.net> wrote: >> >> >>> This means that in Internet Explorer 6 the drop down >>> elements appear on top of the floating DIV when rendered in the >>> > browser. > >> >> This is a bug in IE, no fix available.
