I am trying to build the latest version of R (3.6.2) on a CentOS system running
7.7.1908.
I have been able to build previous versions of R up to and including 3.5.3
successfully. Starting with 3.6.0
the "make check" step fails with errors relating to
"pdflatex" being missing. So, I installed texlive-latex
(and the 100 other rpm dependencies) then tried rebuilding R. "make
check" continues to fail.
I have a feeling that this is a "soft" error because the resulting R
executable appears to be working properly.
Would someone please take a look at this reg-packages.Rout.fail file and let me
know whether I can just ignore
the tests or if there is an easy fix for this?
Thanks. Here is the reg-packages.Rout.fail file:
