Martin: With the recent change of adding -D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED I cannot get artihmetic.c to compile---it dies because of undefined acosh etc. Is this specific of the system that I have access to? -k -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !) Another problem we encounter is that configure finds installbsd as a usable install program which does not work correctly. Has anyone else experienced this? -k -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !) KH> Martin: With the recent change of adding -D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED I KH> cannot get artihmetic.c to compile---it dies because of undefined KH> acosh etc. Compilation dies ?? KH> Is this specific of the system that I have access to? Oh dear... the infinite story continues... The AIX system I have acess to {uname -a ==> AIX percol 2 4 000333104600} is fine here.. As a matter of fact, I can see in /usr/include/math.h that acosh() is only declared when -D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED(=1) !!! this is what worked here gcc -I. -I../include -I../../src/include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -g -O2 -D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED=1 -c arithmetic.c -o arithmetic.o a few days ago (I kept the full ./configure; make shell transcript). --- I'm trying again with the July 12 snapshot.. + my line =====================================================CFLAGS="-g -O2 -D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED" =====================================================in config.site ((to which configure now adds `` -mno-fp-in-toc '')) Martin -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !) It seems, to some extent. make went all smooth with the additional -D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED CFLAGS. My few tests (graphic, dyn.load, Inf,...) completed well including the "make check" part till it comes to testing the "specifics" in ./tests/ which dies when it tries to remake package `eda', the problem being the already reported Problem when cp'ing libraries that are already there.. cp: ../../../../library/lqs/libs/lqs.so: Text file busy [[that problem is being fixed as well..]] Martin -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !) Compilation-wise it seems that -D_ALL_SOURCE works o.k. for me. Now, this gives> 1/0 + 1/0# Inf[1]INF> 1/0 - 1/0# NaN[1]NaNQ which is only sort of o.k.??? For the time being, I'll commit this version ... -k -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
