[Pkg-xen-devel] Bug#711420: Xen not booting over Wheezy
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64 Version: 4.1.4-3+deb7u1 Package: xen-linux-system-amd64 Version: 3.2+46 Package: xen-utils-4.1 Version: 4.1.4-3+deb7u1 Package: xenwatch Version: 0.5.4-3 Package: xenstore-utils Version: 4.1.4-3+deb7u1 Package: xen-tools Version: 4.3.1-1 I installed Debian 7 (amd64) in a HX5 blade server (IBM Bladecenter H) 32 GB RAM, 2 Intel Xeon SixCore 2.Ghz, Internal HDD 50 GB RAID-1 (LSI) Then I installed the xen hypervisor, I received a warning that says "not running or not supported Within xen utils" rebooted, selected the xen kernel, a second grub appears and choose the first option, starts loading the xen recognizes the processors and memory but then repeatedly displayed the following message: udevd[51]: timeout: killing '/sbin/modprobe -b pci:v00001000d00000056sv00001014sd000003CDbc01sc00i00' [70] After a few minutes the screen goes black and does not accept the keyboard. I go back into Debian with kernel 3.2.0-4-amd64 and /var/log/xen is empty. The installation procedure was as follows: # aptitude install xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64 xen-linux-system-amd64 xen-utils-4.1 xenwatch xenstore-utils xen-tools # mv / etc/grub.d/10_linux / etc/grub.d/50_linux # update-grub2 # reboot Attached installation information. ***** USO DEL CORREO ELECTRONICO DE CADIVI HACIA INTERNET ***** LA INFORMACION CONTENIDA EN ESTE CORREO Y SUS ANEXOS PUEDE SER DE CARACTER CONFIDENCIAL.
