[Pkg-xen-devel] Bug#385934: xen-hypervisor-3.0-i386: Hypervisor reboots before starting Dom0
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0-i386 Version: 3.0.2+hg9697-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Hypervisor reboots system after printing: (XEN) Xen trace buffers: disabled>From what I've found online, Xen should start booting the linux kernel atthis point, but never does so. I've booted the hypervisor with the options 'noreboot' and 'sync_console' - Xen simply hangs after the above message, and never prints anything else. System used is custom-built, using an Intel D815EEA2 motherboard and 1 GHz PIII with 512 MB RAM (hardware should be supported by Xen). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-2-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) -- no debconf information

I'm seeing exactly the same here. ii linux-image-2.6.16-2-xen-686 2.6.16-18 Linux kernel 2.6.16 image on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/P4 machines ii xen-hypervisor-3.0-i386 3.0.2+hg9697-2 The Xen Hypervisor for i386> System used is custom-built, using an Intel D815EEA2 motherboard and 1 GHz > PIII with 512 MB RAM (hardware should be supported by Xen).Pentium II with 300 MHz for me and also, Xen was working previously, which is three weeks ago. (Been away for three weeks.) It broke after I updated to the above versions of the hypervisor and / or kernel. [Pkg-xen-devel] Bug#385934: xen-hypervisor-3.0-i386: Hypervisor reboots before starting Dom0
Hi guys, I am on a bug squashing frenzy and stumbled over #385934. I had a problem with the same symptoms (#385574) and for me, it was solved by replacing xen-hypervisor-3.0-XXX with xen-hypervisor-3.0-unstable-1-XXX. Could you please check whether the problems persists? -- .''`. martin f. krafft <madduck@debian.org> : :' : proud Debian developer, author, administrator, and user `. `'` http://people.debian.org/~madduck http://debiansystem.info `- Debian - when you have better things to do than fixing systems -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
