I was shocked to find no RCS on SXCE 107. I needed it to update some RCS archives I had copied over. No problem - go to sunfreeware and copy it over. No OpenSolaris branch? The Solaris 10 package should work. Only the package install appears to complete and does not - as documented only in a log file, not on my screen. OK then, the source for RCS should be easily compiled and installed, I used to do it all the time. Except there is no GCC installed. Well, I can get gcc from sunfreeware ... enter a loop. Any suggestions? Thanks. -- /*********************************************************************\ ** ** Joe Yao jsdy@tux.org - Joseph S. D. Except there is no GCC installed.Did you install all of SXCE? /usr/sfw/bin/gcc is part of the SX:CE SUNWgcc package...
OBTW, yes, cvs, svn, and git are on SXCE. But AFAICT none have an rcs2* type command, the way that RCS had sccs2rcs when it first came out. And the whole point was that I had RCS archives copied over that I wanted to maintain - simply. -- /*********************************************************************\ ** ** Joe Yao jsdy@tux.org - Joseph S. Besides, with ''gcc'' already there, re-installing RCS took far less time than re-training a bunch of people. ;-) -- /*********************************************************************\ ** ** Joe Yao jsdy@tux.org - Joseph S.
