xen discuss - Mar 2008 - vlan dom0 bridge to domu

I try to start winxp on a domU. My wish is to have a vlans on a
network interface/ dom0 side.

Here is a part of ''hvm'' config ''s file.

vif = [ ''type=ioemu, bridge=nge17001, mac=00:16:3e:29:2d:f8'' ]

It does not work.
but this line does.

vif = [ ''type=ioemu, bridge=nge1, mac=00:16:3e:29:2d:f8'' ]

This doesn''t work. You can''t create a VNIC over a VLAN. This
should be
fixed by the Crossbow project phase 1 integration (due in ~4 months).

If you don''t need to connect dom0 to the VLAN then you might switch to
using the ''vif-dedicated'' script. That should work (though
I''ve not
tested it with an HVM guest).
