Hello,

I'm running a gentoo amd64 installation on my Dell Precision M6300. It
resides
in a docking station, so I don't have to connect 10 cables, when returning
to
my desk. My external Monitor (HP LP2475w) is connected via the DVI-D connector
at the docking station.
"xrandr -q" lists the monitor. But if I enable it the monitor stays
blank,
showing a "no signal" message and goes to sleep. Unplugging and
replugging
doesn't improve it. The monitor is also listed in the Monitor section of the
system settings on my gnome 3 desktop, but it's the same game like with the
xrandr command line tool.
BUT, if I take my Laptop out of docking station and connect the monitor to the
DVI-D connector of the Laptop I immediately get a signal.

Can you mail the vbios image from /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/vbios.rom ("mount

debugfs debugfs /sys/kernel/debug" if not already done) to
mmio.dumps at gmail.com, and mention this bug number in the subject.

I'm experiencing the same bug, the second monitor does function via the
proprietary nvidia driver and if I switch the DVI connections to both monitors
the one that's stating no signal swaps around with nouveau, so I don't
suspect
any hardware faults.

I've posted my vbios.rom here:

It appears that this bug report has laid dormant for quite a while. Sorry we
haven't gotten to it. Since we fix bugs all the time, chances are pretty
good
that your issue has been fixed with the latest software. Please give it a shot.
(Linux kernel 3.10.7, xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.9, mesa 9.1.6, or their git
versions.) If upgrading to the latest isn't an option for you, your
distro's
bugzilla is probably the right destination for your bug report.
