Hi all- Running Xubuntu 17.04. I have my display mode set through grub KMS, I am not using the default for my monitor. When lightdm launches it still does a mode change for some reason. It was changing me to my monitor default, but I set up a display-setup-script to set the mode back to what I want. And after I log in, my display mode is set right by my DE. My question is, what is causing the mode change to happen when lightdm launches? Why isn't it just leaving the mode set by KMS alone? It's silly to watch my monitor stumble through a mode change just to go back to the mode it was in before. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'm more than happy to provide any additional info that may be needed. [LightDM] display mode changing when lightdm launches?
Hi Mickey, LightDM itself doesn't do any mode changing, what you are probably seeing is the greeter or session doing this. I suspect you're running lightdm-gtk-greeter in this case, so if it should be keeping the display mode you might want to look in there. --Robert On Mon, 16 Oct 2017 at 22:21 Mickey Lyle <mickeylyle at gmail.com> wrote:> Hi all- > > Running Xubuntu 17.04. > > I have my display mode set through grub KMS, I am not using the default > for my monitor.
