Gluster users - Jun 2016 - Suggestions for a new glusterfs

Hello,
I have two server with a RAID controller and eight disks 4 TB capacity.
I would build a glusterfs.?
?What kind of configuration do you suggest me between these two?
1. Create 2 RAID5 disks on the servers (each RAID is 4 disks, total
12+12 TB) afterthat create on that RAID disks a distributed glusterfs
(one brick each server)
or?
2. Create 8 stand-alone disks (4 each server) and after create on it a
distributed glusterfs (4 bricks each server)

I strongly recommend against raid5, if you want raid, do raid6. So
each server has effectively (8-2Parity)*4TB space.

Do not have enough experience to tell you about 8 disk raid6 vs
distributed/replica using all the 16 drives without raid.
