A new serive is available from FreeBSD.ORG: GNATS updates and bug-reports via the CTM email software update tool. These are *not* bug fixes. These are the bug reports submitted to FreeBSD by its user community. GNATS is a bug-tracking tool designed for use at a central support site. Software users who experience problems report those problems through electronic mail to the the maintainers of the software; GNATS partially automates the tracking of these problems. All FreeBSD problem reports (PRs) filed by users with send-pr(1) are put into this database, as well as additional information about each PR during its lifetime. CTM is the universal software mirror tool designed by Poul-Henning Kamp. It particularly shines in automating software mirrors particulary for people with only email access to the net. The CTM mirror of the FreeBSD GNATS database is intended for people who want to help with tracking and fixing PRs, or for those who feel an urgent need to be continously informed about the status of all PRs. People who are rather interested in an occasional access to the PRs might be better served by the WWW frontend to the GNATS database.
