Well, I already got on result: As I suspected using Debian or Ubuntu leads to running unsupported OS version, because even LTS is too short.. From a project level our supported platforms philosophy/policy are on the wiki[1]. We don't have a specific version list, but we try to be reasonable with the popular distros and non-end of life versions.
