When I create a new mailbox number in /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default Do I have to copy any message files in there? I've noticed that * originally crated a sample mailbox number 1234 and there are two files: busy.gsm and unavail.gsm Are these files being plaid when with ex. Voicemail(u1234) command? Do I copy these two files to a new mailbox when I create one? -- #Joseph

In fact you don't need to create the mailboxes by hand - the first time your users dial in to the Voicemail application * will create the mailboxes for them, based on entries in voicemail.conf As for the busy and unavailable messages, the user can create those by dialing in to the Voicemail application and selecting the appropriate menu option: Press 0 at the main menu Press 1 - record unavailable message Press 2 - record busy message Press 3 - record user's name Flynn

Asterisk will automatically create the proper directory the first time a voicemail is left. Allison will walk you through recording busy and unavailable messages once you have logged into your mailbox. Just follow the prompts. -Seth -- Seth Remington SaberLogic, LLC 661-B Weber Drive Wadsworth, Ohio 44281 Phone: (330)335-6442 Fax: (330)336-8559
