[Xen-users] Unable to boot 3.0.0-rc kernels and Xen 4.1.1
Hi everyone, I''ve compiled 3.0.0-rc6 from kernel.org , with all the pv_ops config options set as per the Xen wiki. The kernel boots fine, but not in combination with Xen. All i get is a completely blank screen , and after a minute or so the machine reboots. THe hypervisor seems to work OK with other (non-dom0 , 2.6.32.x) kernels, i can see Xen startup messages, before it finally complains no dom0 kernel found. Is this the Xen 4 VGA issue i keep reading about? Is the mainline kernel truly ready for dom0 role without any patches ? Thanks! _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Try disabling framebuffer/vga mode (e.g. remove "rhgb" or similar from grub''s menu). If that doesn''t work, try adding "console=hvc0" to kernel command line. -- Fajar _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Re: [Xen-users] Unable to boot 3.0.0-rc kernels and Xen 4.1.1
Linux 3.0 has no vga support for XEN. This has ben discussed 2 weeks ago. So the screen is blank after boot. A patch is available somewhere (if you are interested in the patch, I can send it to you). You can also use the sources from the XEN git. Dont know the URL right now. Viele Grüße. Christian Am 11.07.2011 um 06:09 schrieb "Fajar A.
