sorry i forgot to include a subject on my last post I have recently upgraded my xen server. Previously i was running 3.1 on ubuntu 7.10. I upgraded the ubuntu to 8.04 which installs xen 3.2. after the install i have found that i receive the following error. Error: Device 51713 (vbd) could not be connected. losetup /dev/loop1 /xen/local/domains/test-hardy/disk.img failed I have checked that i can mount disk.img as a loopback file. so i am wondering if anyone can help me? I can''t upgrade the rest of my systems until i resolve this issue. TIA, Tomoki _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Hi Tomoki-San, I think there''s a bug report about this in the ubuntu bugs launchpad. I also faced the same issue (ie xm create claiming not mounting disk drive) and thus tried to use another kernel from Fedora 8 (2.6.21.7). It works with this kernel. So the bug is in the Ubuntu 2.6.24 Dom0 kernel. Tried that, worked for the disk only, but not for the cdrom. For the CD ROM losetup /dev/loop0 <path to iso> (or replace loop0 with a free loopback device, try losetup -f) Then in the guest config use: phy:/dev/loop0, hdc:cdrom, r Cheers, Todd On Fri, Jun 6, 2008 at 11:32 AM, Emre ERENOGLU <erenoglu@gmail.com> wrote:> Tried that, worked for the disk only, but not for the cdrom. > > Emre > > On Fri, Jun 6, 2008 at 5:12 PM, Todd Deshane <deshantm@gmail.com> wrote: > >> >> >> On Fri, Jun 6, 2008 at 3:18 AM, Tomoki Taniguchi < >> tomoki.taniguchi@gmail.com> wrote: >> >>> sorry i forgot to include a subject on my last post >>> >>> I have recently upgraded my xen server. >>> Previously i was running 3.1 on ubuntu 7.10. >>> I upgraded the ubuntu to 8.04 which installs xen 3.2. >>> >>> after the install i have found that i receive the following error. >>> Error: Device 51713 (vbd) could not be connected. losetup /dev/loop1 >>> /xen/local/domains/test-hardy/disk.img failed >>> >>> I have checked that i can mount disk.img as a loopback file. so i am >>> wondering if anyone can help me? >>> >> >> change file: to tap:aio >> >> Cheers, >> Todd >> >> >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Xen-users mailing list >> Xen-users@lists.xensource.com >> http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users >> > > > > -- > Emre_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
