Hello! Since cs153 to the 2.6.18-xen kernel Linux does not print out any information while booting nor does it offer a console for login on. Do I have to pass boot command line parameters to see the output? Thanks. Remove console=ttyS0 from your command line, if you have it. You can replace it with console=xvc0. -- Keir On 4/9/07 19:16, "Stefan Berger" <stefanb@us.ibm.com> wrote:> > Hello! > > Since cs153 to the 2.6.18-xen kernel Linux does not print out any > information while booting nor does it offer a console for login on. Now using console=xvc0 I see the (Xen) outputs with the last line that Xen is relinquishing the VGA console and then no output during the boot process. The blinking cursor moves into the upper left corner after Xen is done and at some point during the boot process the Xen output becomes mouse-selectable. Then comes the login prompt. I am surprise that no one else seeing this. Oh, you want output on the vga console? Then console=tty0 should still work fine, as it always has. The xenconsole changes shouldn¹t have affected vga output by dom0 at all. -- Keir On 7/9/07 17:12, "Stefan Berger" <stefanb@us.ibm.com> wrote:>> > Remove console=ttyS0 from your command line, if you have it. If I pass console=tty0 in the domain-0 boot command line now on CS195 then the last output I see is ''Continuing...'' after the ''big'' tls emulation warning. Not even a prompt anymore, but some kernel error message -- a different note for these error messages, though. Ah, can you try removing the line console_use_vt = 0¹ from xencons_early_setup()? That might have something to do with it! -- Keir On 7/9/07 18:48, "Stefan Berger" <stefanb@us.ibm.com> wrote:>> > Oh, you want output on the vga console? That might have something to do with it!Yes, removing this line resolves the problem. Thanks.
