Hello friends, Today i format my pc, and install Ubuntu in all disk; the problem is that i have a camtasia studio 6 and i use this for my tutorials, because recordmydesktop format .ogv is dont aceptable in youtube ( i upload one video two days ago and the caps in youtube are green ._. ) Ok... I install using wine camtasia and when i run it, have problem, camtasia open but dont do anything, i import some audio .mp3 and show me a message "this extension is not soported" come on.. something is happening, the instalation was correct, the problem is when i open de program. Some solution?, i need your help friends.. bye =)
http://www.transcoder.org/ would enable ogv from recordmydesktop to be converted to something usable by youtube. ogv to webm is a good bet. Really I wish there was better software for Linux for doing this. Not where you have to create a combination. Recordmydesktop is dependable for recording the screen. http://thejeshgn.com/2008/06/24/how-to-capture-the-screen-using-vlc-for-screencasting/ Yes the odd solution everyone seams not to find. Vlc is a desktop record program. Its also a desktop streaming program very useful in class rooms at times. Controls are a little lacking ie video editor like openshot might be need to clean off bits you did not want recorded with the VLC method. www.openshotvideo.com is also another thing that can be used to get from recordmydesktop to youtube format. Also in the process of using the video editor you can add on voice and other things. Basically I don't see why being using camtasia studio. Seams like going down the incorrect path. Really the sooner Linux has lightworks as a video editor the better.
Brother, i know that is not very good opcion run the camtasia un ubuntu; and i not a new user for linux, i use various distributions. Well, the problem behind of this ( of using camtasia in my ubuntu ) is that i did some things to convert correctly the .ogv format of recordmydesktop ( i prefer this software ) how: mencoder, transmageddon and others.. and come the problems -- the sound is delayed / the video is cut in some photograms / quality declines / etc. -- the best result that i have was: use transmageddon and convert the .ogv in .avi with [ audio: mp3 / codec: xvid ], but the voice or sound is cut in some parts of video when i upload the video :( So......... i will try with "transcoder arista" to view what results i have, i hope good results because for me, the option to run camtasia studio is not very very good.. but i need some solution Thanks partner, i will return with the results!
My friend, with the " transcoder arista " i can convert with cero problems, when i download the aplication and run it, i go to the page to view more formats and i find the " youtube HD " format, very good option right? jaja i download and install this, i convert one video .ogv to out.mp4 and i try to upload on youtube and the video uploaded have some screens grays o_o in diferents moments of the videos ( this means the codecs are wrong.. ) so... i use your option of "Webm" and no problems to upload, the quality are lose but no much, now dont need the camtasia, i will do it only with recordmydesktop and convert the video to youtube with the "Webm" direct to upload. Thanks partner for the help, now i will go to uninstall the camtasia. Bye =)
