wine users - Nov 2009 - error message trying to wavepad on ubuntu 9.10

Trying to use wavepad on ubuntu worked well so far - however on a new computer
with ubuntu 9.10 I get this error message:

any idea how to solve this problem?
it happens during installation and when trying to open- it does open but then
doesn't work.
(I have tried to use scribe (same company) and it works well.............)

What's the Wine version? And could you give us some terminal output?

There is no output after I close the software.
Funny enough I tried "scribe" which is another NCH software- it gives
the same message but works fine! so I am very confused now..........
