Fitting linear models
I am not sure if this is an R-users question, but since most of you here are statisticians, I decided to give it a shot. I am using the lm() function in R to fit a dependent variable to a set of 3 to 5 independent variables. For this, I used the following commands: >model1<-lm(function=PBW~SO4+NO3+NH4) Coefficients: (Intercept) SO4 NO3 NH4 0.01323 0.01968

Tables in legend
I need to create a legend for a simple scatter plot in the following format. This is Blah1 number1 number2 This is Blah2 number3 number4 . . . This is Blah6 number11 number12 I looked up these help pages and found the following solution. lStr<-c(Blah1, Blah2,....Blah6, number 1, number2, ...number12) legend(x="topright",lStr,ncol=3) So this creates the tabular format I am

Controlling widths in write.fwf()
Is there a way to handle the widths of values being written to a file using wrtite.fwf() ? For example, I used read.fwf(file, width.vector) to read a file. After making the necessary data manipulation, I want to write the data to a new file in the same width.vector format. Is there a way to specify this? Thanks in Advance Aparna [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Exporting objects plotted with plot3d() - rgl package
Dear all, Can anybody tell me how to export a 3d figure made with the plot3d function? I'm careless about whether it's still interactive or not in another format, as long I can get it out of R. Deciles and R
Hi everyone, I'm a new R user (if this is a really basic question, please do excuse me...) and I'm having some questions regarding a deciles problem. I have a variable which I need to categorize according to its deciles (X). However, this categorization should be made into another variable (call it NewVar). Ex. for the quartiles case (just for the sake of exposition, since I need

Efficiently creating/defining new variables transformations
I would like to add an extension to the current name of a variable to create a new variable that is its sqrt transform. Each piece of the equation below works independently, but the left side definition fails on run. I also tried creating the variable name first, but ended up with an object that toString() did not fix. Better ideas? Example 1

Losing factor levels when moving variables from one context to another
Hi, there I'm currently trying to figure out how to keep my "factor" levels for a variable when moving it from one data frame or matrix to another. Example below: vec1<-(rep("10",5)) vec2<-(rep("30",5)) vec3<-(rep("80",5)) vecs<-c(vec1, vec2, vec3) resp<-rnorm(2,15) dat<-as.data.frame(cbind(resp, vecs))

Go from CALLINGout to just CALLING
Hello list, how can I go from CALLINGout to just CALLING ? I've tried : exten => s,n,Set(newVAR=${CUT(CALLINGout,,3)}) or exten => s,n,Set(newVAR=$[CUT(CALLINGout,,3)]) But no result : [Jan 4 11:10:12] -- Executing [s at from-S:34] NoOp("SIP/s2-0000003b", "newVAR=") in new stack Asterisk 1.6.10 here. If statement - copying a factor variable to a new variable
I need to look through a dataset with two factor variables, and depending on certain criteria, create a new variable containing the data from one of those other variables. The problem is, R keeps making my new variable an integer and saving the data as a 1 or 2 (I believe the levels of the factor). I've tried using as.factor in the IF output statement, but that doesn't seem to work. Any

AGI solution to Grandstream BT102 call waiting problem
I'm trying to fix a problem with the GrandStream Budgetone 102. I've been reading the source code, mailing lists and other resources. Here's the scenario and the approach I have been pursuing. I'm having some problems with the AGI calls and I hope someone can give me some clarification. PSTN <---> T1,PRI * <---> Grandstream BT 102 (12)

[LLVMdev] generation of shared libraries.
Thanks a lot. A see the shared library in linux version. I initially tried doing this in cygwin where I dont see the shared library being built. Do u think it could have been cygwin that is the problem? [LLVMdev] generation of shared libraries.
I believe because cygwin behaves like windows (it is just a posix layer over window) it doesn't have dynamic linking hence only static libraries have been built. I am using opt , so i cm confused if i need to do this. On the other hand I modified my functionPass not to call TargetData , and I still get this error. Ordering a matrix based on cluster no
Hi All I have a symmetric matrix of genes ( 100x100 matrix). I also have a matrix (100x2) of two columns where column 1 has the gene names and column 2 has the cluster it belongs to (they are sorted and grouped based on the cluster no). I would like to order the rows and columns of the 100x 100 matrix such that the first n genes correspond to cluster 1 and next n genes correspond to cluster 2

Luke gave hints on how to get pthreads to work. LLVM doesn't do anything special for pthreads calls. So they should look like regular calls into a library. -bw

[LLVMdev] generation of shared libraries.
In order to generate shared libraries you need to have SHARED_LIBRARY and LOADABLE_MODULE defined in the Makefile.
