doing zero inflated glmm for count data with fmr
Hello R users, Doing My PhD I collected count data which I believe is zero inflated. I have run a statistical model with lmer and family=poisson and got summary(model)@sigma=1 so I believe there is no overdispertion. I would like to use the fmr function from the 'gnlm' library but I just cannot figure out from the examples in the help page and some forums out there how to convert the lmer

adding text and other elements to ggplot2 plots
Hello, I really like the interface and flexibility of the ggplots package. However, I cannot find how to add text to a plot (like the 'text' and 'rect' functions in the graphics package). I will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Ofir. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/adding-text-and-other-elements-to-ggplot2-plots-tp22455395p22455395.html Sent from the R

3D Bar Graphs in ggplot2?
Does anyone know how to create a 3D Bargraph using ggplot2/qplot. I don't mean 3D as in x,y,z coordinates. Just a 2D bar graph with a 3D shaped bard. See attached excel file for an example. Before anyone asks I know that 3D looking bars don't add anything except "prettiness". http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/file/n3713305/Example.xlsx Example.xlsx -- View this message in

Making the size of bar charts smaller
Hi, Just wondering is there a way to make the width of bar charts that you create using R smaller? Also, a bar chart I created has a total number of 23 entries (with 2 different columns 14 and 9), how can I have the total number on the Y axis adding up to 23 and not the larger of the two columns? Hope this makes sense. BR Jack. -- View this message in context:

Bar charts, frequencies known, intervals of varying width
Hi I would like to plot bar charts in a particular way. The intervals are not evenly distributed and are in a data frame column called size and the relative frequencies are in a second column called mass. Both size and mass are continuous ratio data to all intents and purposes. The data actually represents sieving of sand where $size is sieve aperture and where $mass is the amount remaining on

Bar charts with error bars
I would like to add error bars to a bar chart, I have created in R. I am able to add error bars to a bar plot, but the same method does not seem to work for my bar chart version.   Is there a way to add error bars to bar charts? ________________________________________________________ Audi, Fiat, Peugeot, Skoda, Porsche, Toyota, Ford - Kelkoo har brugte biler til en hver smag! how to generate bar charts with the standard deviation
Hi, I have the two vectors mean and sd of individual columns, but I am unsure how to generate bar charts with the standard deviation, even after looking the help of barplot and barplot.2. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Gruff bar charts and zero data
Hi - I am creating bar and stacked bar charts in Gruff, but the problem I am having is that zero data is showing up as a thin bar. (It also seems to be that way in examples I have seen online where a zero value still shows as a thin bar or slice) It''s not a major issue to see a thin sliver on a plain bar chart, but on my stacked bar chart if I have more than one zero value in a

shading bar charts

Problem with bargraph.CI in Sciplot package
Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me. I'm trying to use bargraph.CI in the Sciplot package when there is a missing combination of the factor levels. Unfortunately the standard errors on the plot do not appear to be correct. Consider an analysis consisting of two factors A and B. When all factor level combinations are present all appears fine: library(sciplot) #all data

using par funtions in bargraph.CI()
I'm trying to create a bargraph of means with standard error bars using the function bargraph.CI (in the sciplot package). Like this: bargraph.CI(x.factor, response, data, xlab, ylab, par(family="serif"),font=11) However, an error message comes up when I try to use the par funtion. Does the character font/style need to be changed in a different way for this kind of plot? Or am I

coplot =? gannt chart + bargraph
I would like to display some results from simulations in the form of a Gantt chart (progress) with a barchart (production) of another variable below (something very similar to coplot charts). I'm not sure if I should attempt to build this from scratch (using grid or some of the basic graphics features) or if there's a similar feature in one of the existing packages. I need to take the

bargraph.CI change se for sd
Hi there, I am a beginner. I would like to change the error bars in the bargraph.CI function from the default (se) to (sd). The help file says ci.fun= function(x) c(fun(x)-se(x), fun(x)+se(x)) Is there a simple way of telling the function what (x) precisely is - I already define in in the of the bargraph.CI function and assume that is should be able to use that information. cheers, Herwig --

Histogram with two groups on the same graph (not on separate panels)
I have been trying to produce a histogram that has two groups (male and female snakes) on the same graph (either superimposed or each frequency bar appears side by side). I found a couple of functions for superimposed histogram written by other people. The below is the codes I used for my data containing a column of svl (body size; snout-vent length) and another column of sex (male or female).

bargraph.ci - CI and color question.
Hello, When using bargraph.CI in package sciplot can the bars for each group be different colors? How do I select the color for each group? When I use this instead of the default (SD vs SE): bargraph.CI(x.factor = dose, response = len, data = ToothGrowth, ci.fun= function(x) c(mean(x)-sd(x), mean(x) + sd(x)) ) Am I getting 95% CI bars? Thank you kindly, Michael Just

bar charts
Hi, I'd like plot a bar graphic of a array. I'd like to have the values of the single columns as juxtaposed bars (like in "barplot" with beside=TRUE) and I'd like to have the values of the single columns expressed like percentage of the sum of the coloumn. In this way all the bars are composed by the sum of the percentage of the values of a coloumn (with different colors)

confused about x-coordinates and bar charts
Thanks for all the help on my previous histogram problem. I intend to summarize the solutions back to the list Real Soon Now, but first, I've got another problem. I've made a bar chart that reports means. I'd like to put the number of observations on top of each bar. Here's what I've got: barplot((subset$x), col=grey(.5), ylab="Mean Engagement

multiple x factors using the sciplot package
Dear R community, I am a beginner using the sciplot package to graph barplots. I would like to be able to graph two x factors (Sampling.year and Period). Sampling.year: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 Period: First, Second, Total The parameter "group" is the different species I looked at. They can be seen in the legend. The parameter "response" is the Average percentage

Grouped AND stacked bar charts possible in R?
Good day all, My statisticians want an R procedure that will produce grouped stacked barplots. Barplot will stack or group, but not both. The ftable function can produce a table of the exact form they want, but the barplot doesn't show all the divisions we want. For an example, here's the sample from the help file for "ftable:" data(Titanic) ftable(Titanic, row.vars = 1:3)
