problem starting virt-manager
Hi, i try to run virt-manager on a SLES 11 SP1 box. I'm using kernel 2.6.32.12 and virt-manager 0.9.4-106.1.x86_64 . The system is a 64bit box. Here is the output: ========================= pc56846:/media/idg2/SysAdmin_AG_Wurst/software_und_treiber/virt_manager/sles_11_sp1 # virt-manager & [1] 9659 pc56846:/media/idg2/SysAdmin_AG_Wurst/software_und_treiber/virt_manager/sles_11_sp1 #

how can i get rid of the password for accessing the console in virt-manager ?
Hi, i'm using virt-manager to manage serveral guests on a sles 11 host. For one guest, i configured a password to enter the console via virt-manager (not via VNC). How can i get rid of it ? wrong time in guest logs
Hi, i have several vm's running on KVM hosts. Recently i found out that the time in the log-files of the guests (/var/log/libvirt/qemu/xxx.log) is wrong. The time on the guest itself is right, just the time in the log-files is one hour back. Windows and linux vm's are affected. Also on another host the same. Changing the clock offset does not have any influence, still the wrong time in

still possible to use traditional bridge network setup ?
Hi, i'm currently installing a SLES 12 64bit system. libvirt-client-1.2.5-13.3.x86_64 and libvirt-daemon-1.2.5-13.3.x86_64. Formerly I created my vm's (KVM) using a traditional bridge in my host systems, mostly SLES 11 SP3. But with SLES 12 I don't succeed. I can use the macvtap device in the host, but I like to be able to communicate between host and guest. Is the traditional bridge

Fitting Mixture of Non-Central Student's t Distributions
Dear Ingmar & Dave, Thanks a lot for your help and sorry for the late reply. Finally, I've found a way to separate the mixture of distributions (empirically). But the gamlss package looks great, I'm sure it will help me during my further studies. New R package kwb.hantush (0.2.1): calculation of groundwater mounding beneath an (stormwater) infiltration basin
Dear R users, It is a pleasure for me to announce the availability of the new package kwb.hantush (0.2.1)? on CRAN. Its objective is the calculation of groundwater mounding beneath an (stormwater) infiltration basin by solving the Hantush (1967) equation. For checking the correct implementation of the algorithm the R modelling results were cross-checked against alternative models assessed in

png support in R on linux
Hi there, I am sure this question has been posted a couple times before but I could not find a good solution on the web. Is there any way to get png() support in R on SUSE linux? We want to run GenePattern on that server and some workflows use R scripts plotting into pngs. Best wishes Kristian R version 2.14.0 (2011-10-31) Platform: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu (64-bit) locale: [1]

Small typo in An Introduction to R (PR#1402)
At a snail's pace I keep on translating an introduction to R into italian; I have reached the section describing the glm() function, in which some example code is presented. The very last line of code, before the beginning of the section on Poisson models is: ldp <- ld50(coef(fmp)); ldl <- ld50(coef(fmp)); c(ldp, ldl) which of course gives results 43.663 and 43.663; the correct code

Finding LD50 from an interaction Generalised Linear model
Hi, I have recently been attempting to find the LD50 from two predicted fits (For male and females) in a Generalised linear model which models the effect of both sex + logdose (and sex*logdose interaction) on proportion survival (formula = y ~ ldose * sex, family = "binomial", data = dat (y is the survival data)). I can obtain the LD50 for females using the dose.p() command in the MASS

scan and skip - without line breaks in the input file
Dear all, I am trying to read in big amounts of data with scan. It's only one variable, numeric values, separated by tabs,.. and it's many of them. So I was thinking that I could use the skip option and read in 100000 values at a time - but skip doesn't work, probably because I don't have line breaks in the txt file. So any value specified for skip makes the scan function jump to

Same color key for multiple lattice contour plots
Hi all, I'm trying to make multiple lattice contour plots which have the same color key, to allow good comparisons. However, I run into some problems when fitting the plots to the color key. Basically my strategy to tackle this problem was: 1) define a color key for all plots; 2) calculate the variable range for each plot; 3) calculate the range of colors from the color key that correspond

Fitting Mixture of Non-Central Student's t Distributions
Dear all, I am attempting to model some one-dimensional data using a mixture model of non-central Student's t distributions. However, I haven't been able to find any R package that provides this functionality. Could there be a way to "manipulate" the EM algorithms from the mixdist or mixtools package to fit the model, or do you have any other suggestions? If anyone could help

Fwd: Re: Finney's fiducial confidence intervals of LD50
thanks a lot Renaud. but i was interested in Finney's fiducial confidence intervals of LD50 so to obtain comparable results with SPSS. But your reply leads me to the next question: does anybody know what is the best method (asymptotic, bootstrap etc.) for calculating confidence intervals of LD50? i could "get rid" of Finney's fiducial confidence intervals but

Probit analysis
Respected Sir/Madam, I have a question regarding calculation of LD50 (Lethal Dose) and IC50 (50% inhibitory concentration) of an antimicrobial experiment. I have used a compound isolated from a plant and observed its effect on the fungus *Fusarium oxysporum* by the food poisoning method. Solutions of the compound at concentrations of 0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250µg/ ml were added to

guests not shutting down when host shuts down
Hi, i have a SLES 11 SP2 64bit host with three guests: - Windows XP 32 - Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit - SLES 11 SP2 64bit The SLES guest shuts down with the host shutdown. The others not. When i shutdown these two guests with the virt-manager, they shutdown fine. ACPI is activated in virt-manager for both of them. Acpid is running in the Ubuntu Client. When the host shuts down, the two guests get a
