I want to combine two figures on one plot. First figure display the
data distribution. The x-axis of first figure is individual's ranking
and the y-axis of first figure is probability. However, the second
figure is a histogram about probability. In order to make the figure

memory space
Dear all
when the program is runing, we can realize that the memory size will
be asked more and more..
Therefore, we could meet the significant problem, such as out off
memory size.
However, even if i rm() some variables that i will not use it anymore,
the memory size still not enough.
By the way, i found that if i turn off the R-gui, the program can work
again.
For example, i generate a

printing Problems in Samba 3.0.10
Hi all,
we are using Samba for a year in our departement. It replaced a
dedicated win2k-server for printer and file sharing. We are quite happy
with it, but we have still some problems. Does anyone of you know
solutions to this:
1. We are using HP Laserjet 4300 in our departement. Driver ( origial PS
drivers from HP website) installation was successfull and basic functionality works, but some

IAX Inbound Sound Quality
I have a couple of DID's through VP Connect and have been having sound
quality issues on incoming calls. During the call, the calling parties
voice sometimes sound like it is crackling, in other words it is not
very crisp. I would liken it to listening to a radio with a blown
speaker. This sound defect comes and goes throughout the call. The
other person is always audible but it just isn't

How to create distortion, echo, and chopping sound in a SIP trunk?
Hi everyone,
How can I introduce some distortion, echo, chopping sound and all other bad
quality things that can happen to a SIP trunk? I have plenty of bandwidth
and crisp clear lines so the only thing that I can think of is to limit
bandwidth but even that requires quite some scripting work.
Is there any easy way to simulate a distorted SIP line temporarily for
testing?
I am appreciate

Hi R specialists,

the following message...-> p-values may be incorrect due to tie
What does it mean? (it is not described in the help)

Setup of discontinuous stream demux
I am putting together an ogg mux/demux application
which uses two logical streams. One is a vorbis stream,
the other is some application specific data.
This came together really quickly, following the ogg/vorbis
documentation it took only a few hours to get it up and running.
Just a small question...
My application stream is currently running as a continuous stream
but really I want it to be

I/O size distribution?
Hello
I have read that under Solaris one can use DTrace to get I/O request
size distribution on a global scale (also on a per process/pid basis).
See for example
http://prefetch.net/articles/observeiodtk.html
Can anyone?recommend?an alternative to get similar information under
CentOS? I looked into dtrace for linux but it seems still work in
progress, even putting aside CDDL issues ...

I read an article in R-news about this within the last year or two that
discussed the application of lm to matrices but I'll be darned if I can find
it with Google. Probably using the wrong search terms.
Can someone steer me to this article of just tell me if this is possible
and, if so, how to do it? My simplistic

An unconstructive grumble
5 hours of configuration attempts, error after confusing error, documentation
with examples that only show extracts of working configurations. I really
feel like throwing in the towel with dovecot.
It should not be this hard and frankly almost impossible to understand and
configure for such an incedibly simple configuration.

Re-assigning vector elements based on their initial values.
Is there an eloquent solution to re-assign vector element values?
I have a vector which contains chemical data, some of them are "flagged" as
non-detected values by their negative values.
I can find the statistics on the positive values in vector "v" simply by
typing:
>v<- c(5,5,-3,-3,7,8,10)
> v[(v>0)]
[1] 5 5 7 8 10
I can also convert to positive values by

exporting high quality graphics from R in Mac OSX
Hi there
The default option for saving graphics from R (1.9.1) on my Mac is as a
pdf file. If I open the file in Acrobat reader it looks really good and
crisp, and is obviously saved as vector graphics, since I can zoom in
as much as I like and it continues to look really nice. If I import it
into MS Word (from office 2000), or Textedit, however, it imports it as
a bitmap and unless I save

interactive image graphic
Dear All
I want to plot a kind of figures, which can interactive with user.
For example, i have a matirx which can be showed by image function.
i.e. we can compare the value depend on different colors.
However, the change of colors depend on the range of value.
Nowaday, i want to set a bar, which can be moved by user such that the
user can obtain the appropriate range.
Does anyone suggest me which
