odfWeave & prettyR
Hello, I've been trying to use odfWeave and prettyR packages to create documents with both text and graphs, but so far I haven't been very lucky... With the function R2html () in prettyR package, when I try to use a source file, which works perfectly if I run it directly form R using "source("file")", it works for the first part and then it makes a mess, i guess

odfWeave : problems with odfInsertPlot() and odfFigureCaption()
Dear Max, dear list, I have trouble using odfInsertPlot to insert plots outside fig=TRUE chunks. My goal is to dump a bunch of (relatively uninteresting, but required) graphs from within a loop, possibly interspeded with some tables. This is not possible within a normal fig=TRUE chunk. odfInsertPlot() is able to insert a previously saved plot. When used in a fig=TRUE, results=hide chunk, it

odfWeave - How to Insert eps rather than png
If you create plots and use odfWeave to create an odf text document, the default for figures is png bitmap graphics. The only way I've found to insert eps graphics is to first create the eps graphic using the postscript driver and then use odfInsertPlot. I've tried to use getImageDefs and setImageDefs but I get an empty plot. Could someone show an example? Rick B.

summary of a list
Hello, I'm using the following for loop to find regression curves using a list of functions (formList), a list of starting values (startList), uppervalues (upperList) and lower values (lowerList). A sample of the list of function I use in the loop is the following: FormList <- list(PTG.P ~ fz1(Portata, a, b), PTG.P ~ fz2(Portata, a, b), PTG.P ~ fz3(Portata,a, b, d, e), PTG.P ~

plotting the result of a nonlinear regression
Hello, to plot the result of a singular non linear regression (using nls) I usually use the function plotfit, for example: r.PTG.V<-nls(PTG.P~ fz1(Portata, a,b), data=dati, start=list(a=10, b=10), nls.control(maxiter=200), algorithm='port', trace=TRUE, na.action=na.omit, lower=list(a=0, b=10), upper=list(a=100, b=100)) plotfit(r.PTG.V) I tried to use the function plotfit on the

R2HTML: output from for-loops
Hi, I am trying to prepare a report with R2HTML using HTMLStart(outdir="./html", filename="report", echo=T, HTMLframe=F) then, for instance, I want to get the output of a loop: for (i in 1:20) print(summary(rnorm(1000))) but only the first of summaries really ends up in the html file. What am I doing wrongly? Thanks, Werner

write.table
Hello, I tried to turn lists into vectors and then bind them together in order to create a dataframe but if, after this, I try to use the function write.table I get the following error message: Error in write.table(x, file, nrow(x), p, rnames, sep, eol, na, dec, as.integer(quote), : 'list' type not implemented in 'EncodeElement' Here is what I've done:

non linear regression with nls
Hello, I'm a beginner with R and it's the first time I'm using the R-help list... I hope I'm in the right place, if not: Sorry!! I need to do non linear regressions on a data set which columns are: "river.name" "Portata" "PTG.P" "PO4.P" "NT.N" "NH4.N" "NO3.N" "BOD5" "SiO2"

Sink does not send graphs to sink file
Wiindows XP R 2.7 I am using sink() to send the results of my analyses to a text file. Unfortunately my graphs do not become part of the file. Is there anyway that I can have both the text and graphic output of my analyses appear in a file? Crosstabs Output
Hi, I'm a new R user. I noticed that RKWard has a really nice output when it does crosstabs. It even includes the chi-squared values. However, I obviously can't simply copy this into my standalone R script. Does anyone know the code or a way for me to view the code. Secondly, if I am writing an R script I want to be able to view the output as a pdf even if my function is not a graph,

Errors when trying to open odfWeave documents
Hello I tried the odfWeave package today, by running the formatting.odt and example.odt files that are included with the package. They both ran fine, but when I try to open them in my OpenOffice (OpenOffice 3.1.1 on Kubuntu 9.10) I get an error "Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at 1293,124(row,col)." I also tried to open them in MS Word 2003 (Windows

odfWeave \Sexpr
Dear All, Using odfWeave is working fine for me using code chunks <<...>>= ... @ But the inline \Sexpr{date()} is not evaluated and returns again \Sexpr{date()} instead of "Thu Apr 17 18:15:47 2008". What might be the reason for that, what do I have to look for? I'm using Windows XP, R 2.6.1, odfWeave_0.7.3 and OpenOffice 2.4. Session Info: R version 2.6.1

Reproducible research
I am investigating some approaches to reproducible research. I need in the end to produce .html or .doc or .docx. I have used hwriter in the past but have had some problems with verbatim output from R. Tables are also not particularly convenient. I am interested in R2HTML and R2wd in particular, and possibly odfWeave. Does anyone have sample documents using any of these approaches which

How to turn a LaTeX Sweave file (Rnw) into .HTML/.odf/.docx? (under windows)
Hello dear R help members, I have found several references on how to do this, my question is if anyone is actually using them - and if there are some strong points on what to use, and how well it is working out. My goal is to be able to easily create docs from R, but to be able to share it with other researchers (who do not use LaTeX) so they could easily copy/paste the tables and edit them for

Combine graphical and textual output
Hi, I would like to know whether anybody knows a simple way to combine textual and graphical output in R. A typical analysis produces textual output (e.g. model fits) and plots in R. I would like to know whether R has the possibility of combining these into a single 'report' or output. An example of a program that does this is SPSS. After running the analysis you have a combination

Combine R2HTML and Rcmd BATCH?
Hi All, I have an R script that spawns output in the form of an HTML page. This is done by the R2HTML package. Now I want to run the same script using Rcmd BATCH. However, it seems that it is not possible to use R2HTML in this case. My script ends with this error message: ######################### Error in dev.print(png, file = AbsGraphFileName, width = Width, height = Height, : can only

save the result into a word file
Hi, everyone: I forget on how to save a result from R as a word document. For example, if I run the linear regression and want to save the result: summary(lm(y~x) in a word file. So I can show it later to my clients. Any idea on how to do this? Thanks a lot, Suyan

Output and Word
Hi I have just started to have a look at R. I have used most stats software packages and can use perl, visual basic etc. I am interested in how well it handles lots of output e.g. tables or charts. How would you get lots of output most easily and quickly into a Word document? Sharon Snowdon ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - FIGHT BACK AGAINST SPAM!
