Rcmdr and scatter3d
Hi folks,
I'd like to use scatter3d (which is in R commander) to plot more than one
dataset in the same graph, each dataset with a different color. The kind
of stuff you would do with "holdon" in Matlab.
I read a recent message that was posted to this list with a similar
problem, but I couldn't understand the reply. Could someone give me one
example? How do you plot subgroups

Code for Coefficent (Cronbach's) Alpha
Hi all,
I am trying to teach myself to use and program R (How else do you do it?
lol) Anyway, I wrote a piece of code to compute coefficent alpha for a
scale. As I am neither a statistician nor a programmer, I wanted people's
feedback. The code appears to work (Win 95 with R 1.0.1) and I have
verified my result with SPSS and it was correct (much to my astonishment!).
Nonetheless, I am

Read.table problem
Hi !
I am new to R, and using the MAC version onto Mac OS 9.1. My question concerns
the problem I encounter when I try to read some data I have using the
read.table function. I always get an error of type : Error in scan(file =
file, what = what, sep = sep, quote = quote, dec = dec, :

Here is my code:

key-value mapping in C inside R?
I'm testing some modifications in arima.c.
I've noticed that a big internal array of double (rbar) is usually
sparse and I'd like to add an option to store it as key-value mapping.
Is there a library function or some other approach already used inside
the R core for key-value mappings?
Thanks,

Item Analysis and Cronbach's Alpha (Code Attached)
A short function I wrote for the purpose of evaluating scales made up of a
number of questionnaire items. It provides Cronbach's Alpha, both
unstandardized and based on standardized items. It also provides item
statistics which include item-total correlations (corrected) and
item-removed alpha. Thought some of you might find it useful. I would also
appreciate any programming tips or

arima() bug
I guess this is more r-devel than r-help.
Note, I am just the messenger - I have no idea what the user is trying to model here.

Bumps chart in R
Hi there,
I would like to make a 'bumps chart' like the ones described e.g.
here: http://junkcharts.typepad.com/junk_charts/bumps_chart/
Purpose: I'd like to plot the proportion of people in select countries
living for less then one USD pr day in 1994 and 2004 respectively. I
have already constructed a barplot - but I think a bumps chart would
be better

Rcmdr -> doItAndPrint -> summary method of S4-class object not in Rcmdr window but R Console
Dear list member,
John Fox proposed to me posting this problem to R-Help:
I have written a function suited for Rcmdr and included this in a R-file
located in Rcmdr/etc as well as an augmented `Rcmdr-menus.txt'.
Now, I am faced with the following problem:
method show() of a S4-class object works flawlessly, that is `doItAndPrint'
works flawlessly and its output is returned correctly into

What's wrong with Rcmdr?
Hi all,
I successfully installed Rcmdr. And I type "library(Rcmdr)", nothing
happened;
or if I select menu item "load package" and select "Rcmdr", still nothing
happened...
Why didn't Rcmdr start?
Very strangely, if I close the R console and restart R console, every first
time I load "Rcmdr", it starts! But not second, third time...

Adding a function with default parameters into the Rcmdr menu
Hi everyone,
I made some tests with Rcmdr, to add a function with default parameters :
For example (very simple):
myfunction<-function(var="314"){
print("hello")
print(var)
}
if I run myfunction() directly i see :
> myfunction()
[1] "hello"
[1] "314"
it's ok.
But if i edit de Rcmdr-menu.txt (in

I try to start Rmcdr from JGR. The Rmcdr-Windows comes up correctly; but
the
Menu-Bar in the Rcmdr-Window goes away, if I try to go into the

I hope, someone has a solution.

For one reason or another, I cannot install Rcmdr on my R 2.12.2 ubuntu 11.4 system.

rcmdr help
Dear All,
I use Debian etch and downloaded R from its repo. Although it is running I
would like to make the first steps using rcmdr. I went through on wikis and
howtos, installed rcmdr but it is not running. Apparently it is properly
installed, there is an Rcmdr library in /usr/lib/R/site-library but I cannot
start it neither from command line nor by clicking on applications -> debian

Problems loading dataset in Rcmdr
Hello all!
I?ve been using Rcmdr for some time, as a quick way of producing
graphics and basic statistics. I run R1.8.1, OS W2000.
Two days ago the dataset loader stopped working. Normally, the button
<No active dataset> is clickable to give you the opportunity to choose
dataset to load in the Rcmdr context. Clicking on the button now
produces this:

Rcmdr 1.3-0 and RcmdrPlugins.TeachingDemos
I'd like to announce a new version, 1.3-0, of the Rcmdr package. The Rcmdr
package provides a basic-statistics graphical user interface (GUI) to R.
Beyond small changes and additions, this new version of the package makes
provision for "plug-ins" that permit extension of the Rcmdr GUI without
altering and rebuilding the Rcmdr source package or modifying the installed
package. An R
