There's plenty of variations on the idea: Revgen/S2E, Fracture, Dagger

DAGIR
Hello all,
The rich history of binary distribution formats based on LLVM
[0][1][2][3][4] has proven LLVM's viability as a launchpad for stable
platforms. However, issues with compilation time and compiler size have
suggested that the translator must do too much, i.e. LLVM IR isn't a
low-level enough virtual machine. So we introduce DAGIR ("dagger"), a new
portable close to the

Mac OS X 2.5.1 / reg-plot.R / tr (PR#10781)
In building R 2.6.2 from source for Mac OS X 2.5.1 (with
i686-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.0.1), 'make check' fails. The failure is in
reg-plot.R, and occurs because Mac OS X's 'tr' command (invoked by Rdiff
to strip carriage returns) regards the dagger sign in reg-plot.ps as an
illegal byte sequence.
I'm surprised that this doesn't seem to have been reported before, but

[RFC] llvm-mca: a static performance analysis tool
Thanks Andrea for working on this!
I’ve been willing to do this for quite some time now. Looks like procrastination was the right approach here ;).

Thanks for the pointer Quentin.

Does R support [:punct:] in regexps?

[1] "yoda-yoda" "billy!"

[LLVMdev] decompiler
Hi -
Not sure if anyone else saw this or cares about a decompiler (not
personally tested)
https://github.com/draperlaboratory/fracture
I wonder if they have been in contact with anyone in the community in
getting this upstreamed. Does it look interesting to anyone else?

Over 400 smbd pid's?
Over the past 2 days, my smbd processes are multiplying worse than
rabbits. At least with rabbits it's easy to tell why you wind up
with so many...
Here's the setup:
Samba version 3.2.8-0.24 installed via rpm on a FC6 box with 2 nics,
both on the same subnet. The samba server acts as a PDC in a mixed
environment but mostly windows pc's running xp. It is used mostly

LaTeX in R graph
Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to insert LaTeX typesetting in R output.
I want to obtain a graph with LaTeX label in order to incorporate it as
postscript or pdf,
x<-seq(0,1,length=100)
y<-x*x
plot(x,y,xlab="$X$",ylab="$X^2$")

Getting Yoda unit to register all four ports
I have a sample of the Yoda VG400 and I am having a devil of a time
trying to get all four channels to register to Asterisk. I have an
Asterisk 1.2.1 server.
I have tried adding one at a time and rebooting it, but it stops after
the first.

Anyone had success with this?

nutups with MGE Evolution via USB
I'm getting dmesg flooded with messages like this one:
usbdevfs: usb_submit_urb returned -28
What's wrong? I'm using Linux kernel 2.4.32 and nut-2.0.3.
The /etc/ups.conf contains
[mgeups]
driver = newhidups
port = auto
desc = "MGE UPS"
Cheers,
Rodrigo
