RE: Adding a line in the graph of 'plot()'
The general nature of your question means there are a multitude of answers.
if you type '?abline' it will give you an example of a line drawn over a plot.
type ?segments, ?lines, ?points, ?text and go through the examples and try them out
The help pages to the base package 'grid' includes an introduction to using the various drawing mechanisms

Quartz doesn't display x-axis properly until a window resize (PR#11368)
Full_Name: Luis Lopez-Oliveros
Version: 2.7.0
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.2
Submission from: (NULL) (71.176.115.32)
In R 2.7.0 for Mac OS X, Quartz plots are drawn a little bit off-screen. What
happens is that
the plots appear to be displayed a little below than where they should be in the
Quartz window,
causing the x-axis to be drawn off-screen, "below" the bottom of the Quartz
window.

slow backup using W98
I have been using Samba as a Windows server replacement for years, both
in my shop and most of my clients. Recently I replaced a WNT 4 server at
a customer location with a Linux box - Mandrake 10.0 - which is strictly
a file server.
The machine my client is using to backup his server is a W98 box w/
350MHz/256MB, an HP Travan tape drive and Stomp Backup My PC V5.0. This
backup was taking about 4

nscd problem
Hi All,
I just enabled nscd to see if I can speed up some operations on our
large NFS/NIS environment, however, now that I've enabled nscd I am no
longer able to sudo. Can someone please point me in the right
direction? Everything was working fine prior to enabling it.

Continuous releases and repository protection
Maybe I missed something, but it appears that the CR repository is not compatible with yum priorities & possibly repository protection. I had priority=1 set on [base] and [updates] and no updates appeared. However, when I removed priority updates from cr became visible. Is this expected? Did I miss this announcement on -devel or such because I searched but couldn't find it.

XFS quotas not working at all (seemingly)
Hi All,
I have a very strange problem that I'm unable to pinpoint at the moment. For some reason I am simply unable to get xfs_quotas to report correctly on a freshly installed, fully patched CentOS 6 box. I have specified all the same options as on another machine which *is* reporting quota
LABEL=TEST /exports/TEST xfs inode64,nobarrier,delaylog,usrquota,grpquota 0 0

Kerberized NFS4 w/AD 2008 R2
Is anyone currently using CentOS 5.5 with 2008 R2 AD authentication and a
fully Kerberized NFSv4? If so would you mind sharing your configuration
with me?
I have been able to successfully get it working with Windows 2003 as
discussed earlier on the list

With the exception that I had to use dynamic UIDs on the machine since we

Odd issue with XFS quotas reporting 8192.0EB in use
Hi All,
I have this very odd issue where after a migration we have some users who have quotas showing 8192.0EB in use, when in reality on disk there is only a couple hundred megabytes.
The host in question is a:
* CentOS 6.3 host with mostly latest patches (except latest glibc patches)
* running in SELinux Enforcing mode (Permissive doesn't seem to help)
* all file systems are on Logical

can't get the quartz window to the background
Dear List,
I have switched from Linux to OS X, and I find the R interface there
really nice. I am using Emacs+ESS, and the quartz device.
My only problem is that
1. I can't move the quartz window, whenever I go above it I see a
spinning rainbow circle (AFAIK that means "I am busy" or "can't
touch me" in OS X)
2. Once something gets in front of it, I cannot

Warped Text in mtext in a Quartz-Window
Hello,
With one procedure, I get a strangely warped text in the mtext-area of a quartz-window, while with an other the text comes out OK - see attached PDF.
(Number of Trials is the x-Axis label, which always comes out OK)

disable virtual terminals during kickstart installation
Hi All,
I'm trying to figure out where the inittab is for a pxeboot/kickstart
installation so that I can disable virtual terminals that allow for
interactive input such as CTRL+ALT+F2. I've looked in the /etc
directories for the pxeboot initrd as well as the stage2 and minstg2
files. Am I missing something grossly obvious here?

rotate text using mtext
Hello,
I wish to write a label to the right-hand side of a plot (side=4) using
mtext, with the text facing inwards - that is, rotated 180 degrees from the
default orientation. How might I do this? (I've tried experimenting with
las but no luck.)
Thanks,

apt-cacher for CentOS
Hi All,
Is there something similar to apt-cacher available for CentOS? I would
like to ensure that an application is only downloaded once to the
network and not hundreds of times.
If there isn't an equivalent, would someone please point me in the
direction of how I might accomplish this with CentOS?

limited number of graphs in Quartz window
Hi all,
I'm using the R GUI on a Mac. It is easy to produce a
number of plots and put them into a Quartz window, and then
use Command-left or Command-right to flip between them.
However, Quartz seems to hold a maximum of about 15 plots,
and then discards anything plotted before that.
This is pretty annoying, does anyone know of way to change
this default setting?
Cheers,
Nick

Excluding file systems from autorelabel
I'm trying to find a way to exclude file systems during the autorelabel process. I have a file system (/exports) that has tens of millions of files on it and I *know* I don't want it relabeled.
I've tried semanage fcontext -a -t "<<none>>" "/exports(/.*)?" and it seems to insist on relabeling that file system. I also tried to see if there was a

2 minor typos
Hello,
I would like to report 2 very minor typos:
1. help file for package:base function:function
The last sentence of the "Technical details" section reads:
"This is not normally user-visible, but it indicated when functions are printed."
Either "is" is missing ("but it is indicated") or "it" should be replaced by "is" ("but
