Altering columns
Hi, Suppose I have following dataset : mat <- matrix(rnorm(100), 50) Now I want to put 2nd column in the place of 1st and 1st column in the place of 2nd. Is there any "quick" way to do that? keep adding elements to the matrix
Hello everyone, I would like to create a "dynamic" array to keep storing number in it for (i in c(2:length(final))){ myarray <-final[i]-final[i-1] myarray2<-2*final[i] } At the end I would like to use myarray as the x values of an array and the myarray2 as the yvalues of the same array. I tried cbind but it didnot work. Could you please help me with that? Best

Winsorizing Multiple Variables
Hi All, I want to take a matrix (or data frame) and winsorize each variable. So I can, for example, correlate the winsorized variables. The code below will winsorize a single vector, but when applied to several vectors, each ends up sorted independently in ascending order so that a given observation is no longer on the same row for each vector. So I need to winsorize the variable but

Sorting a dataframe
Undoubtedly a simple question: I've looked at order() and sort() in the help pages for R1.7.1. It doesn't appear that these functions are immediately suited to doing the same thing as PROC SORT DATA = BLAH; BY X Y Z; RUN; in SAS. I have also checked Frank Harrell's Hmisc library. Could someone point me in the right direction so I can sort by the levels of Z within the levels of
