R as COM client (rather than server)
Hello all
Can R be used as a COM client (rather than as a COM server)? The following
(Splus) code shows the sort of thing I'd like to do:
pMIM <- create.ole.object("mim31.Server")
NoOutputLines <- call.ole.method(pMIM, "SendCmdLine", "show w")
for (i in 1:NoOutputLines) show(call.ole.method(pMIM,
"GetOutputLine"))
release.ole.object(pMIM)

R (2.2.0), R-DCOM and Delphi
In response to a few private e-mails, here a summary of using Delphi, R-DCOM
and R 2.2.0
1) As Earl Glynn noted
there were a few paths specific to my installation in
http://www.menne-biomed.de/download/RDComDelphi.zip
leading to path errors on compilation. Hopefully, this has been corrected in
the new zip file.
2) Always check if

R DCOMServer Manager 2.0
Hi All,
I am from the packaging team in RBS.
We use R DCOMServer Manager 2.0, this application uses RGUI 2.3.0 as one of its components.
We are planning to upgrade to the latest version of RGUI 2.8.0 but found that R DCOMServer manager is not compatible with the latest version.
Can you direct me from where can I download the compatible version of DCON server Manager?
Thanks,

Excel Add-Ins Not Loaded When Using excel.link & RDCOM
Dear All,
I am using excel.link package to open and modify Excel files.
When I manually open Excel, all my add-ins are loaded without a problem.
But when I open Excel using excel.link package, like:
xls<-xl.get.excel()
xl.workbook.open("MyFile.xlsx")
some Excel add-ins are (installed but) not loaded.
Since the problem is related to local add-ins at my side, I cannot
reproduce the

clearing some part of a graph
Hi R lovers
2 questions:
1) I'd like to know how to clean the title, the sub title or the labels of
a graph. I know how to redefine it with the function title() but it
overwrites the previous title and do not replace it
2) How could I clear a whole plot (for example in a multiple figure
environment)
thanks for your help

I have a request...
Can I call R functions/routines from C# or C++? If so, how do I do this? Do I need to have some knowledge on DLL to do this?

excel files and R
Greetings everyone,
I am new at R. My questions is rather basic. Looking R manuals looks
like there should be a way to read MS excel files into R. Could
somebody tell me which library should I use for that?
Thanks in advance

defining and plotting functions thanks to equation
Hi R lovers!
Are there any means to define and plot a function given the equation that
specifies the function?
For example I'd like to plot and work with the Gumbel Distribution density
defined by
Lambda(x)=exp(-exp(-x))
My question may appear very simple but I haven't got an idea yet about how
to do that. I could plot something with x a vector/set of value but I don't
know how to
