R package compilation: files in src directory should be ignored if C library is not available
I have written an R package which contains C source code (in the directory pkg/src).
Only a subset of the functions in the pkg/R directory contain a .C() call to the functions in the pkg/src directory. The rest of the package will still work and be useful without the functions containing a .C() call.
To compile the code in pkg/src requires the GSL library. This is detailed in the

Please help debug Windows setup
Hi,
Thanks to John Wice for helping me with an earlier question. My two PCs behind the same router are still having problems connecting. Would appreciate thoughts on what I?m doing wrong?

mixed model MANCOVA
Hello,
I need to perform a mixed-model (with nesting) MANCOVA, using Type III sums of squares. I know how to perform each of these types of tests individually, but I am not sure if performing a mixed-model MANCOVA is possible. Please let me know.

problem
Good evening to everybody,
I have problems to import in R a really big dataset (more than 1000000 values). Which is the best package to install?
Is there someone who works with this kind of dataset and can help me, please?
Thank you very much,

Etimating time to run an analysis?
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this list and have searched R help prior for an answer to this question, without luck. If I'm posting in error, please forgive.
I'm thinking about using package MuMIn to do multimodel inference with logistic regression. I have many (25) possible predictors and am curious if there is a way to estimate how long the dredge command might take to run?

A question regarding bootstrap
Dear List Members,
I have two small samples (n=20), the distributions are highly skewed. Does
it make any sense to do a boostrap test to check for difference in means?
And if so, could this be done like this:
x <- numeric(10000)
for(i in 1:10000) {
x[i] <- mean(sample(sample1,replace=TRUE)) -
mean(sample(sample2,replace=TRUE))
}
(mean(sample1)-mean(sample2))/sd(x)

creation of a matrix
Hi all,
I have a relative large amount (several thousand rows, but a small
amount of unique objects) of data in a format like this:
1 text_string
1 text_string
1 text_string
2 text_string
2 text_string
3 text_string
3 text_string
3 text_string
3 text_string
3 text_string
.

.
n text_string
I want to create an n x p matrix, n objects (=40) and p unique text
strings. Nij is number of occurrences

Sorry about that, here's the link: https://godbolt.org/z/-PinQP
Lines 4 to 8 are initializing |acpar|.
If I'm understanding correctly, the store to 8(%rsp) at line 7 can be
removed because of the

Dead store elimination in the backend for -ftrivial-auto-var-init
There are two problems:
1. padding after union and call to q(), without LTO we can't remove that
store.
2. shortcut which I have which ignores all instructions q() . this assume
that memset to acpar.match, acpar.matchinfo also useful which is not true. I
should be able to improve this case.

Mapping InlineAsm parameters to ConstraintInfoVector elements
Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out which parameters of a given InlineAsm instruction
are its inputs, and which are the outputs (rationale: make sure MSan
doesn't check the output parameters of an asm() statement).
As far as I understand, this information is only available through the
ConstraintInfoVector for the InlineAsm. However there's no exact match
between the constraints and the

No luck contacting Chris Lattner re commit access
Hi all,
As per the instructions here
<http://llvm.org/docs/DeveloperPolicy.html#obtaining-commit-access>, I
contacted Chris Lattner to obtain commit access but haven't received a
response (either positive or negative). What's the expected turnaround time
for this (I contacted him five days ago)? In case he's currently
unavailable, is there someone else I could contact?
Thanks,

Dead store elimination in the backend for -ftrivial-auto-var-init
Hi folks,
When compiling the attached example with -ftrivial-auto-var-init=zero:
$ clang -no-integrated-as -mno-sse -m64 -mstack-alignment=8 -O2
-ftrivial-auto-var-init=zero
-enable-trivial-auto-var-init-zero-knowing-it-will-be-removed-from-clang
-g -o ipt.ll -c ipt.i -w -S -emit-llvm
, Clang generates an initialization memset() call for |acpar| in the IR:
%0 = bitcast

Obtaining the origin function for a local var after inlining
(I think I've asked a similar question off-list a couple of times, but
never got an answer)
Hi folks,
For [K]MSAN we need to figure out which inlined function a local var
originally belonged to in the source file.
E.g. when a local buffer %buf is declared in @bar(), but @bar() is
inlined into @foo(), then there's a local %buf.i in @foo(), but we
need to determine that the local came from
