different ACF results
Dear all, I have one Model (M3) fitted using the lme package, and I have checked the correlation structure of within-group errors using plot(ACF (M3,maxLag=10),alpha=0.05) But now I am not sure how to interpret this plot for the empirical autocorrelation function. The problem is that I am used to see/interpret diagrams in which all the autocorrelation Lags, except lag-1, are inside the

random parameters in nlme
Dear all, I am using the nlme package to find the best model using non-linear mixed effects model. After the all the other things needed, I did > M1<- nlme(NShrubs~A*exp(-B*CED),data=DataSg,fixed=list (A~SITE,B~1), random=B~1,start=list(fixed=c (1.66,1.66,1.66,1.66,1.66,1.66,1.66,1.66,0.0038)),control=lmc) and it was ok. However, the data showed to need random parameters at both

Is it possible to do Ripley's K and L functions analysis with R?
Dear friends, I am studying the spatial distribution of trees in a tropical swamp forest in Brazil, and the spatial association between the trees and other forest and non forest elements. These are point pattern analysis of mapped data, preferentially done with the L function of Ripley. I have recently discovererd the R-project and would like to know whether it is possible to do these

Doubts about ADE-4
Hi, I'm having some troubles in using the ADE-4 package. I want to analyze data for the Outlying Mean Index in the function 'niche'. I've got two matrixes: one for environmental data and the other for species abundance data. But to implement the analysis, as I understand it, I need to put tocheger these two matrixes in one, as in the example provided with the package. Un

beronet and tdm400p cards conflict?
Hi, I'm currently using a beronet quadBRI and a Digium tdm400P card on a Poweredge SC420 DELL with mandriva 2005 LE (standard installation) but this particular configuration gives me a problem: sometime the 2 cards work well toghether, sometimes it is impossible to make/receive calls. Is there anybody out there who is currently using this configuration without problems? TIA Giorgio

Icecast log format
Due to my inability to find such a utility I'm going to hack something toghether (in Java most likely) to parse the icecast log files and insert the entries into an SQL database. Although I've managed to piece together most of the format for the access log the nature of a couple still elude me, as well as the organization of the icecast log. I've gone through the icecast source what I

dynamic iptables and iproute2
hello everybody, I am trying to develop a windows friendly firewall/ipsec_tunnel_endpoint. Samba(my best compliments to the developers for their very professional work) can help me in two major features. 1) I want to write an open source a daemon that dynamically sets iptables and traffic shaping user profiles based on the netbios name(still I have some problems in undestanding all the netbios

Skip based on checksum not worked as expected when using with complex filter rules.
Hi all, I've a local repository for Debian, and I'm doing some rsync testings on it. In fact, -v is almost entirely useless without --itemize-changes. In fact, if I was in charge I would make -v include --itemize-changes. large lines of data
Dear All, I have to enter many lines of data in the same object. I usually use copy-paste to transfer data from an Word file to R. But, for large lines of data, R gets "confused" and gives an error message, i.e. it breaks one line somewhere, and lines get no meaning at all. Some times I solve that problem adding "enters" and making each line shorter, before I do

You just don't use winbind to access them. You don't have a choice inside the samba server.

source login schemes
Hi, Could anyone tell me about the different login schemes sources can use to connect to IceCast, ShoutCast, etc? From what I can tell: ShoutCast uses something called icy login? IceCast uses something called x-audiocast, but can also use icy? IceCast2 uses what? Also, where can I find details about these login schemes? I sort of figured out a basic use of x-audiocast by looking at the JScream

Mixed mode import problem
