xspline, graphical parameters and MAXNUMPTS
Hello, I am having two difficulties with xspline: 1) Passing lty=2 (via ...) appears to have no effect 2) Apparently depending on the current plot axes, I may or may not get the failure: add_point - reached MAXNUMPTS (25200) This happens both on Linux/R 2.8.0 (details below) and Windows Vista/R 2.8.0 patched (2008-10-21 r46766) Simplest case: plot(c(0,1),c(0,1))

CRAN task views work only once per session (PR#9330)
Cran task views seems to be a "once-per-session" process -- the first attempt to access views in a (RGui for Windows) session works, but subsequent attempts fail. There is a noticeably long pause before the failing call returns. Example session with two calls to "available.views" follows, but similar effects have been observed with two calls to "install.views" and

work-around for debugger broken (by changed behaviour of get under R 2.8?) when functions have ... arguments
Hello all, Sorry to trouble you, but this is a follow-up with a work-around to the problem I posted on R-help (http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.r.general/136515). Is it possible to add the work-around or some equivalent to the utils package, please? I think this may be related to the changed behaviour of get under R 2.8 referred to in:

Location of HTML help files
I am using R 2.7.1 under Windows XP, installed at C:/R/R-2.7.1. The location of the HTML SearchEngine is file:///C:/R/R-2.7.1/doc/html/search/SearchEngine.html. Now, when I type a phrase, say "reshape", in the search text field, the Search Results page suggest that the location of the reshape HTML help file is file:///C:/R/library/stats/html/reshape.html, while in reality it is

file.access() on network (mounted) drive on Windows Vista?
Hi, I have a writable and readable file on a small network file system (Cisco NSLU2 Unslung; non-NTFS) that I access via a mounted drive on Windows Vista. My problem could be due to a "funny" file system/server, but here it goes: > pathname <- "Q:/foo.txt" > cat(file=pathname, "Hello world!\n") > readLines(pathname) [1] "Hello world!" >

Wishlist: pass args from demo() to source()
Currently demo calls source with a hard coded max.deparse.length = 250 so you can't really see the demo properly in some cases. Note the [TRUNCATED] below. (1) It would be nice if demo passed max.deparse.length (and other args to source). (2) Also a larger max.deparse.length default would be nice to make it less likely one would have to set it in the first place. > R.version.string #

Eve Premium Graphics Corruption
A picture is worth a thousand words: http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/aurix/eve_premium_wine_0.9.61_1.png The black columns are supposed to be spot lights on the ship in the middle. I haven't tried eve premium before 0.9.60, however, people claim that it didn't have this problem in 0.9.58. Here is a link to the thread in eve online:

Using Token Bucket Filter to simulate a low bandwidth radio link
Hello, I am attempting to use the LARTC traffic control to simulate a radio link that has variable bandwidth and availability. The basic bandwidth could be as low as 500 bits/sec but will generally be about 4000 bits/sec. If the simulated radio link is unavailable (zero bandwidth) then packets should be queued until a link is re-established. i.e. Initial bandwidth is 5000bits/sec then to 0

Possible long filenames problem with smbtar
Hi I am using Samba 2.0.6 on a SUN SPARC Solaris 2.6 machine. I compiled Samba using SUN cc with CFLAGS of "-fast". All the remaining configure parameters were left unspecified. I have been trying to use Samba to backup a nerwork of PCs onto the UNIX box. Each PC has a shared network drive, and the user issues an smbtar or smbclient backup command. eg. % smbclient //dcmbpc/C

anova of lme objects (model1, model2) gives different results depending on order of models
Hello- I understand that it's convention, when comparing two models using the anova function anova(model1, model2), to put the more "complicated" (for want of a better word) model as the second model. However, I'm using lme in the nlme package and I've found that the order of the models actually gives opposite results. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be the case

NUT USB Delayed Communication
Hello, Yes, "pollonly" is a driver option for certain devices (and relevant to just some drivers). Disconnects are probably relevant, at least to loss of connection (and staying that way, with less agressive retries in NUT v2.7.4 and before). There is a logged issue that "pollonly" mode might have trouble detecting a disconnection/staleness, I'm not sure there's merit

NUT USB Delayed Communication
Hello, On one hand, sorry to hear that higher polling frequency in upsmon did not help. On another, question is if the driver gets the info (online state and its changes) from device quickly enough. Initially I meant for you to also try if the "pollonly" flag (in each device section of ups.conf for usbhid-ups instances) would make a difference?.. I'd expect data-transfer interrupts

NUT USB Delayed Communication
Good evening folks, So I configured NUT on a Raspberry Pi 4 both UPS are connected over USB however the switch from AC Power to Battery seems to be delayed on the NUT communication would anyone have any ideas? The Pi Reports that the UPS is on battery around 30 seconds later I think this delay is long. I have tested it on a physical computer and the detection is around 5 to 6 seconds with
