How to set read.table variables to vectors?
The summary stats for the xin and yin variables below are correct. However, if I use plot(xin, yin), an exception is thrown saying that "object xin is not found." Also, it is apparent that I can't successfully replace the x and y vectors with values from xin and yin. The four plots on one panel are showing but the range of x and y is only [0,1], and therefore, it seems like an

Geometry delaunayn and deldir results, differing results from Octave due to decimal precision?
I just looked at the data at the URL you posted and it looks like it consists of all the points in a rectangular grid. When you triangulate a rectangle it is arbitrary whether you use the SW-NE or the SE-NW diagonal and that looks like the only difference between the various algorithms. Geometry delaunayn and deldir results, differing results from Octave due to decimal precision?
"The question is, what is making the results for the R packages different from each other?" There are literally thousands of R packages, contributed independently by thousands of people. There should be no expectation of consistency or for that matter, "correctness", among them. Caveat emptor. Only within the base R distribution, maintained and mostly written by the R Core

Geometry delaunayn and deldir results, differing results from Octave due to decimal precision?
The problem: I would like to translate the Octave algorithm in griddata.m to R. Within the griddata algorithm calls are made to the Delaunay function. For the R translation I have found delaunayn within the "geometry" package and also the deldir package. Both do similar things but give slightly different results depending on the input. The question is, what is making the results for the

precision warning in delaunayn function
Dear R helpers, I try to use the 'delaunayn' function in the 'geometry' package for Delaunay triangulation in 2 dimensions. For the four following points, I get a warning message : > coord=matrix(ncol=2,byrow=TRUE,c(622633,7073452, + 621228,7073517, + 621879,7071762, +

Plot polygon in 3D with rgl
Dear R-helpers, an rgl-ers in particular, what is the easiest way to plot a section of a plane in 3D, that is given by the xyz coordinates of the outline? Suppose I have a polygon - which I know for sure is a set of coordinates on the same plane. One method I found is to use surf.tri from the geometry package, and then plot the triangles with rgl.triangles. This method is not perfect though,

distances between points in R^3
Dear R helpers, I'm trying to write a numerical scheme for a boundary integral method to solve an electromagnetic problem. This requires the computation of the distance between points at the surface of an object (a sphere, in my example). Here is my code, > require(rgl) > r<-1 > size<-10 > theta<-seq(0,2*pi,length=size*2) > phi<-seq(0,pi,length=size) > pc

[PATCH for-2.6.35] virtio_net: do not reschedule rx refill forever
We currently fill all of RX ring, then add_buf returns ENOSPC, which gets mis-detected as an out of memory condition and causes us to reschedule the work, and so on forever. [PATCH net 2/2] virtio-net: refill only when device is up during setting queues
We used to schedule the refill work unconditionally after changing the number of queues. This may lead an issue if the device is not up. Since we only try to cancel the work in ndo_stop(), this may cause the refill work still work after removing the device. Fix this by only schedule the work when device is up. The bug were introduce by commit 9b9cd8024a2882e896c65222aa421d461354e3f2. (virtio-net:

During restoring, try_fill_recv() was called with neither napi lock nor napi disabled. This can lead two try_fill_recv() was called in the same time.
