Using the 'by' function withing a 'for' loop
Dear R experts, I am trying to optimize my script, because right now it requires a lot of memory. The goal is to generate four plots in one page. Every plot corresponds to the means and sem's calculated for a given variable at different days. In order to obtain the means and sem's I apply the 'by' function. The way I have done it so far is like this: Read the data Generate a

[PATCH] Add expired password handling for AIX.
Hi All. Attached is a patch which adds AIX native password expiry support to sshd. It will only apply to -current and is a subset of the patch I have been working on in the last few months (see bug #14 [1]). It contains code by Pablo Sor, Mark Pitt and Zdenek Tlusty and fixes for bugs reported by many others (see [2] for a full list). It adds a do_tty_change_password function that execs

[PATCH] Password expiry merge (AIX parts)
Hi All. Attached is a patch introduces password expiry handling for AIX (other platforms to follow). It is more or less the same as the previous patch but has been updated to reflect recent changes to auth-passwd.c I'm wondering if the AIX parts of auth.c should be moved to port-aix.c and if the generic password change functions (currently at the end of auth-passwd.c) belong in a separate

SFTP Logging Redux.
Sorry to repost, but I finally have the code on a machine that has diff -u, and I've updated it for 2.9p2. Attached is the unified diff to add logging of SFTP activity to auth.info. If there is a more proper way to contrib patches, please let me know. Cheers, Jason # "Jason A. Dour" <jason at dour.org> http://dour.org/ # Founder / Executive Producer - PJ

I join all the R users who are very gratful for your contant work and efforts, specially knowing that you are doing this for the sake of science, without gettig any compensation for that. Having written that, I decided to send the

Hi All, sorry if I post again this e-mail but I think the first one was lost. It's a board with Input/Output capabilities and 10Mbps ethernet interface. It has Microchip software TCP/IP stack on it. Being at a very beginning stage, you can see a little

PATCH: sftp-server logging.
This is another take on logging for sftp-server. Given the number of private email requests I've received for this patch, I assume there is signifigant enough interest to request it be reviewed for inclusion into the release. The patch is against 3.1p1, and is completely disabled by default. To enable logging, one must use compile time directives (-DSFTP_LOGGING). This was done due to prior

Written German Howto for Xen
hi, i''ve written a howto in german for using xen (2.0.7). I would be great, if someone could read it and tell me, whats ok, whats not. Basic questions
hi, i''ve installed xen 2.0.6 on a plain debian sarge system (dom0). I setup two dom1 (one mx machine, one apache machine) and i want to setup a third machine for the firewall and dsl. I''m a bit unsure. The dom0 has no ip address, do i need one? Do i need special firewall rules for this machine? I used the 2.6.11.10-xenU kernel, but it seems, that i have no iptables support

Informix adapter for Ruby on Rails
We can now use Informix as back-end for our Rails applications. Here''s the code of the adapter: http://rubyforge.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/rails-informix/?root=rails-informix It has been tested succesfully on Solaris 9/Informix 9.40/Rails 1.0.0. Since Informix doesn''t allow quoting a value for a [CB]LOB in a query, I had to override some methods of ActiveRecord::Base to accept a
