rgl 'how-to's
Doing a visual graphic and trying to make it "pretty" Here's simple chart to play with: library(rgl) dotframe<-data.frame(x=c(0,7,0,0,-7,0),y=c(0,0,7,0,0,-7),z=c(7,0,0,-7,0,0)) dotframe plot3d(dotframe$x,dotframe$y,dotframe$z, radius=3, type='s',col=c('red','green','blue','purple','orange','gray'), axes=FALSE, box=FALSE,

animation without intermediate files?
Hello, Does anyone know how to make "movies" in R by making a sequence of plots? I'd like to animate a long trajectory for exploratory purposes only, without creating a bunch of image files and then using another program to string them together. In Splus I would do this using double.buffer() to eliminate the flickering caused by replotting. For instance, with a 2-D trajectory

Confidence intervals for predicted values in nls
Dear all I have tried to estimate the confidence intervals for predicted values of a nonlinear model fitted with nls. The function predict gives the predicted values and the lower and upper limits of the prediction, when the class of the object is lm or glm. When the object is derived from nls, the function predict (or predict.nls) gives only the predicted values. The se.fit and interval aguments

[rgl] Dynamically change the color of 3d objects
Hi, I'm new here. This question concerns the package rgl. Is it possible to change the colour of a set of points drawn with plot3d /without/ removing them from the scene? The idea is to create a presentation of a clustering algorithm, step by step, representing the currently assigned cluster by a colour. Removing all the points with "rgl.pop" and replotting them at each step

2 KM curves on the same plot
Hello, Can anyone suggest a simple way to generate a Kaplan-Meier plot with 2 survfit objects, just like this one:? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fEcpdIdE2xYtA6LBQN9ck3JkL6-goabX/view?usp=sharing Suppose I have 2 survfit objects: fit1 is for the curve on the left (survtime has been truncated to the cutoff line: year 5), fit2 is for the curve on the right (minimum survival time is at the

Transparent Bands in R
Hello All, My question is regarding the attached plot. I would like to have multiple transparent green bands running the length (yaxis) of the plot the width of which is determined by the green lines at y=0 in the plot. Can you suggest a way to do it? For those who can't or are unwilling to download the file the plot is at http://www.twitpic.com/ma8w0 Thanks!

add a color band
Hi all, I would like to ask your help to add a color band (Ι am not sure regarding the right term, this color band at the right of the plot "describing" values with their corresponding color. For now I have only this code test<-matrix(data=runif(10000),nrow=100) plot(test, axes="FALSE") axis(1,at=c(0,1),labels=c("a","b")) # but  I would like to add

Colours for sunflowerplot
Dear fellow R users, I would like to draw a "sunflowerplot" because I have data (decade by month) that plots multiple times on the same x-y co-ordinates. Further I would like to colour each of the points/sunflower leaves on the plot according to the group they belong to (i.e. which type of event each represents within that decade and month). I thought that this would be relatively

Setting fontsize in dev.copy2eps
I have a figure on screen with a legend. I want to copy this image to EPS, and use: dev.copy2eps(file="file1.eps", width=5, height=5) The legend that looks OK on screen doesn't look OK in the PostScript image: the text extends out of the box. I try adding a fontsize command: dev.copy2eps(file="file1.eps", width=5, height=5, pointsize=5) This options seems to

A question on type="h" plot lines
Dear R users, I need a produce a plot with a single panel and a few lines on it. Each line represents a different data set. The line types must be "h", i.e. ?histogram? like (or ?high-density?) vertical lines. The problem is that the vertical lines comprising a plot line of type="h" are drawn from the y=0 line to the (x, y) locations. What I need is vertical lines drawn from

volcano plot.r
Hello. My name is Akashah. i work at metabolic laboratory. From my study, i found that volcano plot can help a lot in my section.  i already studied about the volcano plot and get the coding to run in R software, unfortunately, there is may be something wrong with the coding. This is because  no graph appear, but no error (blue color text) was shown on the R console. Below is the coding for

Problem going back to a viewport with gridBase
I am setting up base plots -- one in viewport A and and one in B. This part works fine. But if I go back to A after having done B and add horizontal lines it seems to not use the correct coordinates. How do I tell it to resume using A's coordinates? I am already using par(fig = gridFIG()) but it seems that that's not enough to reestablish them. What happens is that when I go back to

Plot legend
Dear All- I am trying to create a legend where the first 9 terms are represented as pch=16 in one column (which I am able to do); but, I would like the last two terms in that column to be 'lines" (which are black and red - just as it looks like in the plot). I have read through many help pages and searched the help listserv, but haven't figured this one out yet. Does anyone have

help w/ basics
Hello, I am new to Asterisk and new to this list. I got Asterisk setup and running using Asterisk@home, and purchased a PolyCom SoundPoint IP500 phone to test out. I cannot get the phone to talk to the Asterisk box. On bootup of the phone, it tells me that it cannot contact boot server. Why is that? It gets an IP fine, and I have also tried manually setting the IP of the phone and the Asterisk

how to plot y-axis on the right of x-axis
Dear List, I have a richness data distributing across 20 N to 20 S latitude. (120 E-140 E longitude). I would like to draw the richness in the north hemisphere and a regression line in the plot (x-axis: latitude, y-axis: richness in the north hemisphere). The above demand is done using plot. Then, south hemisphere richness and regression are required to be generated using the same y-axis above
