printCoefmat() and zap.ind
Hi All, I would like to ask two questions about printCoefmat(). First, I found a behavior of printCoefmat() that looks strange to me, but I am not sure whether this is an intended behavior: ``` r set.seed(5689417) n <- 10000 x1 <- rnorm(n) x2 <- rnorm(n) y <- .5 * x1 + .6 * x2 + rnorm(n, -0.0002366, .2) dat <- data.frame(x1, x2, y) out <- lm(y ~ x1 + x2, dat) out_summary <-

S4 method dispatch and namespaces: why is default method selected
Hi, I ran into the following peculiarity involving S4 method dispatch and namespaces. I develop a package which have a namespace and which depends on 'pixmap' package, which itself does not have a namespace. Now, in my package I have a class which has a slot for objects from class "pixmap" and I want to have a "plot" method for this new class. Not to clutter the

initalizing and checking validity of S4 classes
Dear useRs and wizaRds, I am currently developing a set of functions using S4 classes. On the way I encountered the problem exemplified with the code below. For some reason the 'validity' method does not seem to work, i.e. does not check for errors in the specification of the slots of the defined class. Any hints? My understanding of the whole S4 system was that validity checks are made

Need help with pointLabels()
Hello R-list, I am plotting a weighted linear regression in R. The points on my chart are also scaled to sample size, so some points are large, some are small. I have figured out everything I need using the plot() function: how to plot the points, scale them by sample size, weight the linear regression by sample size, plot that line, and plot the labels for the points. However, although the

xyplot auto.key issue
Hi all, I'm having a problem with the auto.key function in xyplot. I hate to bother the list like this and I'm positive I must be missing something very simple, yet I've spent the last day searching for a solution to no avail. Essentially, I want a key that contains entries in which the plot points are superimposed on a line of the same color as the points, like this: o--o--o Now,

Problem with greek "beta" symbol in plot using CairoPDF (Windows)
Dear R-Helpers, I have a problem with displaying the greek "beta" symbol in PDF files using Cairo library - it displays as an empty box. The same also happens for a dash symbol in subscript. Both symbols are displayed correctly if the plot is produced on screen (outside of CairoPDF). The syntax that I use for it in plot command is:

Reading outdated .Rprofile file
Hi there: I'm having a weird problem with my startup procedure. R.app is reading an unknown .Rprofile file. First, I'm on a Mac Os 10.6.8 running R.app 2.15.0 On startup > getwd() [1] "/Users/simon" But: the contents of my .Rprofile file in my home directory when viewed with a text editor are: .First<-function() {

dramatic performance slowdown due to THP allocation failure with full pagecache
Hi all, This is not really a libvirt issue but I'm hoping some of the smart folks here will know more about this problem... We have noticed when running some HPC applications on our OpenStack (libvirt+KVM) cloud that the same application occasionally performs much worse (4-5x slowdown) than normal. We can reproduce this quite easily by filling pagecache (i.e. dd-ing a single large file to

inconsistent behaviour of add1 and drop1 with a weighted linear model
Dear R Help, I have noticed some inconsistent behaviour of add1 and drop1 with a weighted linear model, which affects the interpretation of the results. I have these data to fit with a linear model, I want to weight them by the relative size of the geographical areas they represent. _________________________________________________________________________________________ > example

FLAC::Encoder::Stream == "FLAC__STREAM_ENCODER_VERIFY_MISMATCH_IN_AUDIO_DATA"
I'm using flac-1.2.1 and visual studio 2010 on windows xp sp3 and I want to compress raw CDDA with the stream encoder to a file. But I just can't get the flac encoder to work, the encoder always returns an error enc.get_state() == "FLAC__STREAM_ENCODER_VERIFY_MISMATCH_IN_AUDIO_DATA" get_verify_decoder_state() == "FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_READ_FRAME" this is the code I

libao alsa output
Hi, I sent the below a few days ago. It still hasn't turned up in the archive so i'm trying again. Since the first mail was sent, i've found out that removing the call to *_set_periods and *_set_period_size is a better solution to the problem. It seems that the alsa defaults are better than what ever fine tuning the code is trying to do. patch: ---

Dear anonymous, The big mistake in the output might be obvious to you but not to others. Please make clear what the correct output should be or at least what is wrong with the current output.
