change order of plot panels in faceted ggplot/qplot
Hi,
I have a 5-paneled figure that i made using the facet function in
qplot (ggplot). I've managed to arrange the panels into two rows/
three columns, but for the sake of easy visual comparisons between
panels in my particular dataset, I want to have the two plots on the
bottom align on the right hand side of the figure instead of the left.
Here's an example:

ggplot facet label font size
How do I change the font size in the facet labels along the edges of the
plot?
For example (from the ggplot help file):
p<-ggplot(tips, sex ~ smoker, aesthetics=list(x=tip/total_bill))
gghistogram(p)
In this plot, the facet labels are "smoker: No", "smoker: Yes", "sex:
Female", "sex: Male". What command can I use to reduce the font size of

All against all correlation matrix with GGPLOT Facet
I have the following data:
v <- rnorm(13)
w <- rnorm(13)
x <- rnorm(13)
y <- rnorm(13)
z <- rnorm(13)
Using GGPLOT facet, what I want to do is to create a 5*5 matrix,
where each cells plot the correlation between
each pair of the above data. E.g. v-v,v-w; v-x,...,z-z
What's the way to do it?
Attached is the image.

ggplot facet spacing, wrapping
I'm running into some problems with the spacing of some faceted ggplot plots.
I have a number of time series faceted to be one above another, but the
scale labels of the y axes all clobber each other at the bottom/top of each.
for example, try:
qplot(x, y, data = data.frame(x = 1:10, y = 1:10, size = 1:10), facets =
size ~ ., size = size) + scale_x_continuous(breaks = 1:10) +

as.data.frame(cbind()) transforming numeric to factor?
Dear List,
why does as.data.frame(cbind()) transform numeric variables to
factors, once one of the other variablesused is a character vector?
#
x.1 <- rnorm(10)
x.2 <- c(rep("Test",10))
Foo <- as.data.frame(cbind(x.1))
is.factor(Foo$x.1)
Foo <- as.data.frame(cbind(x.1,x.2))
is.factor(Foo$x.1)
#
I assume there is a good reason for this, can somebody explain? Thanks.

gplot problems with faceting
Dear R-Listers,
I am very confused with what seems to be a misuse of the faceting options with gplot function and I hope you might help me on this.
z contains various simulation results from simulations with different set of parameters.
I melt my data to have the following data.frame structure :
> str(z)
'data.frame': 12383 obs. of 5 variables:
$ vID : num 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Plotting error while using ggplot facet
Hello All,
I am trying to do the comparison of my observed and modeled data sets for
two stations. One station is called station "red" and another is called
"blue". I was able to create the facets but when I tried to add two series
in one facet then only one facet got updated while other didn't.

ggplot2: facet_grid with different vertical lines on each facet
Hello,
I am plotting many histograms together using facet_grid in ggplot2. However,
I want to then add a vertical line to each histogram, or facet, each of
which vertical lines are at different x-values.
The following example adds all vertical lines to each facet:
ggplot(data,aes(values)) + geom_histogram() + facet_grid(.~variable) +
geom_vline(xintercept=c(5,10,15))
How can I add a vertical

how to specify ggplot2 facet plot order
Hi, new to R and ggplot2. I've been trying to get a facet plot in which the
order of the facets is as I require, rather than ordered numerically,
alphabetically, by Roman numerals, mean (answers to these were posted here
after much searching). Here's some test code to demonstrate what I get.
series = c('C2','C4','C8','C10','C15','C20')

change plotting symbol for groups in trellis graph
Hi,
how can I change the plotting symbol for the groups in a trellis panel dotplot.
My graph is similar to:
library(trellis)

key = simpleKey(levels(barley$year), space = "right"),
xlab = "Barley Yield (bushels/acre) ",
aspect=0.5, layout = c(1,6), ylab=NULL)

Different axis limits for each facet in ggplot2
Hi!
Is it possible to have different axis limit for each facet in a ggplot2
plot? Here is an example:
--------------------------------------------------------------
library(ggplot2)
x=seq(-10,10,.1)
y=cos(x)
z=sin(x)*10
dat=melt(data.frame(x,y,z), id.var="x")
qplot( x, value, data=dat, facets=variable~., geom="line" )

Ggplot: free x-scales in a facet-grid
Hello,
I have a ggplot that has the looks of the plot that I want, but it doesn't
have the right layout.
The data is an ordered melted dataframe:
- ID
- type (to use for a faced grid)
- time - type
- time - value (POSIXct)
- pos (to use for a faced grid, this is an index to split the plot)
The goal of the plot is to create a time line for each ID (different points
of time). The ID's

Faceting in ggplot with 3 series in each plot
I have created a graph with basic R plot with 2 rows and 3 columns. With
the basic plot feature of R I had to write several lines of code to come up
with the graph https://www.dropbox.com/s/f7d6ei6krtcrtti/hello.png
I was wondering whether we can plot multiple series in each plot using
ggplot as created in the above link. If anyone could give me any suggestion
then I could try on ggplot.

Problem plotting continuous and discrete series in ggplot with facet
I have data that plots over time with four different variables. I would
like to combine them in one plot using facet_grid, where each variable gets
its own sub-plot. The following code resembles my data

ggplot2: override facet names in facet_wrap?
just a quick question (to which I suspect the answer is "no"):
does anyone know if, in the ggplot2 package, there's a way to
override the default names of the facets in facet_wrap (which
correspond to the levels of the factor used to facet)? I know
that I go back and change the levels of the factor, but it would
be convenient to be able to supply a vector of level names at
the time

Order of factors with facets in ggplot2
Hello,
I'd like to produce a ggplot where the order of factors within facets is
based on the average of another variable.
Here's a reproducible example. My problem is that the factors are ordered
similarly in both facets. I would like to have, within each facet of `f1',
boxplots for 'x' within each factor `f2', where the boxplots are ordered
based on the average of x

Referencing a vector of data labels in ggplot function
Hi,
I really feel I've looked everywhere, although I know this can't be a hard
problem. I'd like to be able to call the graph below as a function, but I
can't get the function to recognize variables beyond 'dframe'. I've read
through many papers on writing functions in R, but I can't get this to work.

ggpliot2: reordering of factors in facets facet.grid(). Reordering of factor on x-axis no problem.
Hi everyone (again),
before you all start screaming that the reordering of factors has been
discusse on several threads and is not particular to ggplot2, hear me out.
I can easily reorder my x-axis factor in facet.grid() in ggplot2. What I
cannot reorder are the factors represented on the strips. I can see that the
graphs are changing, so I am afraid of what it is I am doing. Why is ggplot2

problems with geom_vline, histograms, scale=free and facets in ggplot
Dear list,
I?m having a little trouble with adding vertical lines to a histogram.
I need to draw a matrix of histograms (using facets), and in each
histogram add a vertical line indicating the mean value of the data in
each facet. According to the last example in the geom_hline help, to
display different lines in each facet I need to provide a data frame.
I modified this example to make a plot
