Automatic shortening of text to fit into area
Hello,
A comment in engine.c states: "/* don't draw anything; this could
be made less crude :) */". The following patch makes it less crude: If
the device doesn't support clipping and the text doesn't fit into the
area, then remove one character after another from the text until
either the text fits or the string is empty.
I attached the patch?it's not

mcmcsamp shortening variable names; how can i turn this feature off?
I have written a function called mcsamp() that is a wrapper that runs
mcmcsamp() and automatically monitors convergence and structures the
inferences into vectors and arrays as appropriate.
But I have run into a very little problem, which is that mcmcsamp()
shortens the variable names. For example:

Hi All,
If I had a large block of code, eg:

[LLVMdev] Is shortening a load a bug?
When the IR specifies a 32 bit load can it be changed to a narrower load?
What if the load is from memory (e.g. a peripheral) that only supports 32-bit
access?
Consider the following IR:
----
target datalayout = "e-p:32:32:32-i1:8:8-i8:8:8-i16:16:16-i32:32:32-i64:32:32"

significance test for difference of two correlations
Dear R users,
how can I test, whether two correlations differ significantly. (I want to prove, that variables are correlated differently, depending on the group a person is in.)
Greetings from Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany),

count NAs with aggregate
Dear members of this list,
I'd like to count missing values using the aggregate function.
Something like this:
count_nas <- function(arg1) {
return(sum(is.na(arg1)))
}
aggregate(cbind(var1, var2, var3) ~ subject + time, data = mydataset,
count_nas)
It's not working: I end up with a matrix containing zeros, although
there are missings in the data frame.
I'd highly

how to correlate nominal variables?
Dear R-Users,
I need functions to calculate Yule's Y or Cram?rs Index, in order to
correlate variables that are nominally scaled?
Am I wrong? Are such functions existing?
Sincerely,

Am i right by Asterisk?
Hello,
i tryed to read the Wiki, but i am not sure if i am right with Asterisk.
Until now i made my phone calls with ant-phone over my ISDN Fritz Card. Now i
tryed to search a way to phone from other computers in the internal net over
the Fritz Card on the Server. Someone told me Asterisk can do this.
I read in the Wiki that Asterisk is in special for Voip, but it looked like

Samba 3.0.23c + Win2K AD, can't mount shares (PANIC: internal error)
Hi,
I've got a big problem since my new samba servers are in 3.0.23c
version, no problems before.
The server is only a file server and domain member in a Win2K Active
Directory domain (4 replicated DC, 1 domain, no forest).
My problem:
Anytime I try to connect a share through any kind of client (MacOS
cifs client, smbclient, windows win2K pro, ...) the client can't

Truncating SHA2 hashes vs shortening a MAC for ZFS Crypto
For the encryption functionality in the ZFS filesystem we use AES in CCM
or GCM mode at the block level to provide confidentiality and
authentication. There is also a SHA256 checksum per block (of the
ciphertext) that forms a Merkle tree of all the blocks in the pool.
Note that I have to store the full IV in the block. A block here is a
ZFS block which is any power of two from 512 bytes to

Shorten the recognition time of rings on Wildcard X100P
Hi,
I connected my Wildcard X100P to the PSTN and created a context in
extensions.conf which rings a number of SIP phones on inbound calls from
the PSTN. When I compare the actual PSTN rings with Asterisk recognition
of the incoming call, Asterisk rings my SIP phones on the third ring of
the incoming call.
Here is some log info:
On the first ring:

we are running samba 2.2.8a on debian 3.0 using kernel 2.5.71 (ok beat
me for that, but the motherboard sucks!) for 100 Win2k clients. Two
