Fwd: makeconf issue on R-devel 2006-03-12 r37524
I sent the message below to r-sig-mac yesterday, but having no reply I decided to explore a bit myself and found that editing: /Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.3/Resources/share/make/ shlib.mk yzzy: diff shlib.mk shlib.mk~ 3c3 < include $(R_HOME)/etc/Makeconf --- > include $(R_HOME)/etc${R_ARCH}/Makeconf restored the functionality of R CMD INSTALL. Is this a known issue?

[NB] lm problems
Hi, I have probably overlooked something obvious, but could anybody help me with following, please? Trying to make regression analysis. I have a huge dataframe with results from National Opinion Survey on Crime and Justice (www.abacon.com/fox/) with two variables G5 and N3 which are imported to R as ordered factors: > levels(noscj$G5) [1] "Strongly agree" "Agree"

nouveau on G5 Macs
Hi all, I have been trying to solve nouveau issues on my iMac G5 for ages. As far as I can understand it, there is a problem with nouveau and page size mapping. I tried both 64K and 4K page size kernels and the the result is always distorted video. There is an old To-Do list, which says "fix the page size mapping problem on G5/64 bit for exposing fifo regs" on

test if elements of a character vector contain letters
Dear all I'm pretty sure that I'm approaching the problem in a wrong way. Suppose the following character vector: > (x[1:10] <- paste(x[1:10], sample(1:10, 10), sep='')) [1] "a10" "b7" "c2" "d3" "e6" "f1" "g5" "h8" "i9" "j4" > x [1] "a10" "b7"

S4 Methods dispatch
A revision of r-devel 2.4.0 is being committed today with changes to method and class management. The changes are internal but extensive. All packages that use S4 methods and classes need to be reinstalled from source to use the new version. The main effects are to speed up method caching and dispatch, and to fix some problems with selecting inherited methods. The new design is also

Asterisk/Zaptel on Mac G5 or Xserve

qlogic qle2462 hba and freebsd stable on a dl360 g5
Hi. I'm looking at a qlogic qle2462 hba for my dl360 g5. The thread http://www.mail-archive.com/freebsd-stable@freebsd.org/msg99497.html mentions a deadlock when system is loaded. Has this issue been resolved? Are there other PCI Express hba's which are known to work with freebsd stable and dl360 g5? -- regards Claus When lenity and cruelty play for a kingdom, the gentler gamester is

Hello * this morning I tried to upgrade from pxelinux 3.11 to 3.84 and discovered that the localboot stuff does not work on HP DL360 G3 and G5. The latest syslinux Version I found with a working localboot is 3.36. pxelinux.cfg/default: default harddisk prompt 1 label harddisk localboot 0 implicit 0 timeout 250 This so simple, it should just work, shouldn't it? Push relay from nicecast with icecast2?
Greetings, I have some confusion. I've seen it mentioned, somewhere in some docs, that Icecast2 does not (as yet) support Push relaying. Is this actually the case? Should I be looking at icecast1 (which does support push relay, I believe) until such capability is implemented on icecast2? Or should I be creating a combination of both? Or what? Here's my situation: I have a customer
